Hey, thank you Tobias! For basses I prefer something short and springy. I mainly use the BX-20 for that, but I would say that most reverbs will do, depending how you set them. When I perform live I'm using Abletons reverb which sounds great. For the perfourmer, and the way I use it, I like delay a lot, but if we're speaking about reverbs I would use some more lush and long, like the OTO BAM, Eventide Space or Big Sky. Today there's so many reverbs out there, so my only recommendation is to try out different ones(and plugins if you're working with DAW) and listen which one you like.

Hey Phil, thanks! I don’t have any system other than to experiment and embrace lucky failures and coincidences when they occur. This arpeggio in 12/4 was f.x an idea I made on guitar, but when it’s was played through the 4 voices of the perfourmer some polyrhythms occurred(lucky for me). But it’s always fun to play around with, and change, how many notes the chords have your arpeggiating, or the subdivision of the arpeggiator.

In this case I just wrote the notes manually into Ableton(to get the idea into the sequencer as fast as possible) but it would actually been better with an arpeggiator since it would have giving me more control over the arpeggio. For the drums, there’s an random arpeggiator in Ableton doing the triggering.

Thank you lin lu! I use both - I love the push for drum/step sequences, or for playing chords/arpeggios, but for longer sequences I often work in the computer(it gives a better view). Yes, a tutorial would be great fun!

If you mean how long it took to build the track, the arpeggio sequence was an idea, I made on a acoustic guitar, programmed into ableton. Then it took a couple of hours to build the track with other instruments, jamming and figure out some technical stuff(how/what instruments should be used and how to connect everything). Last part was to find the right climax and compose the song backwards, by scraping of layers, which was fast done. Did I answer your question?
