Slick made her Atlantic crossing in December of 2014
These videos are in four parts and are a sort of long and boring, just like the passage. For anyone who wants to know what crossing the Atlantic is really like - enjoy.
In Part 2 we eat the kimchi, get becalmed, sail some, get becalmed again, bake bread in a solar oven, swim in the middle of the ocean, farm some sprouts, see some crazy clouds and finally sail some more.
Slick is a 1984 Beneteau First 38 on a 4 year circumnavigation.

Enjoying. Thanks for not ruining the great natural sound with a bunch of crappy tunes.

Alan Watts writes some books about predicting weather and wind based on clouds. they are ok, but every cloud you see leads to deteriorating conditions. I linked the two books on my website in the post dated today.

Great Videos as usual! What is Slick's fuel capacity? Also what do you guys do about the evening squalls with 40 knot gusts? I chartered out of St. Martin shortly after your landfall the first week in Feb. I think you were not too far from us at that time?

bowedtoothdoc SLick's fuel capacity is 60 gallons and then i carry another 25 in jerry jugs. I used to have another 38 gallons in two large containers but they were taking up too much space so i gave them away. In the squalls we reef and run down wind if we can't avoid them, usually we try to out-maneuver them, having a good radar really helps for this.

Good videos too bad about the kimchi... what brand autopilot are you running? Is that a below deck?

Sjon Blackwell Thanks for watching. The AP is a servo-mechanical raymarine. I love the drive, its oversized for the boat and only given a few problems in 35.000 miles. We rebuilt it once and no problems since then. I have it push on a plate attached to the quadrant. Check out the website and find a post from Olbia, Italy, i think there are pictures of the rebuild there. I would give a link but youtube wont let me.

Don't you love it when the government "improves" civil society.
