Slick's setup at the new HQ gets a thorough run-through by yours truly. I find some things I was expecting in his setup, and some things I was NOT expecting... The conflict you see is definitely genuine... I can't believe he took my Filco... That's the only keyboard I have with Cherry MX Blue switches...

Linus has said many times that the content has been getting better over the years. I've been watching long enough to remember videos like this. Yeah, they still had some great content back then but the new stuff is sooooo much better.

heh, old benches for repairing monitors were often covered with carpet to protect the crt screens from scratches. not quite the same thing but an example. regardless as long as you use a static band, or make sure to discharge before touching components there is very little risk. when i worked in pc repair i had the ground pin on a power cable soldered to a case backplate screwed to the wall next to my bench, that way i didn't have to worry about having the computer plugged in.

You can use the old hard drive if your motherboard supports it. So if your HDD has SATA connection and your motherboard also have a SATA connection then yes.

Huehuehue Huehuehue even if it's not a japanese composer it's still in the style of japanese music and the weeaboo confirmed joke still stands because MGS is a japanese game. If a european composer makes the soundtrack for a samurai film in the same style as old samurai flick soundtracks, it's still japanese music because of the stylization. If an american produces a ferrari, it's still italian. (well...)

Good to see that you're still alive Linus. Try to refrain from doing such risky behavior though in the future because we all appreciate your videos. I suggest sticking with authors like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. At least with them if you fall asleep there's a good chance of waking up in the morning.

If your looking solely gaming and solely processing power the perfomance will be the same because games won't you the extra power of FX-6300 so whatever fit's your budget also, don't quote me on this but you might be able to crossfire that 6450 with the graphics of the 6800k and if you can then the 6800k will be the much better choice, i'm not 100% sure they are the same gpu though. You could even crossfire a 6670 with the APU on the a10 it's called hybrid crossfirex.

always build my pc on carpet, never had anything go wrong, very rare to static shock components now days.

oh yeah and one more thing, make sure you use the fastest ram you can possibly get if you are using an APU.
