The top note is an A I think? Don't quote me on that 😂 But that actually isn't that high tbh. Most trombone players like to expand all the way to the Bflat above the staff in treble? Or super bflat because usually music won't require anything higher then that
@@BassboneNelson I'd argue that even most professionals would struggle hitting a double A after 13 minutes straight of playing during a recording session, even Gilkes has missed it in recordings plenty of times and it's his signature lick
It's been a while, but that bass bone part makes me want to take it up again and try again (I could have maybe managed the range at least in that part in my hey-day =p. It's really awesome.
These are the Three Tenors (plus a Bass) of the trombone world! Here are 4 guys that have come together from different careers and parts of the world to form a true super group. The results sound as we would expect - fantastic!
Hot take, obviously these are the top trombonists of the world, but I feel there are brass sections in various orchestras that have played longer together and sound better. There's just a slight lack of tightness and cohesion from these 4 and I feel like I hear all 4 of them individually and each one is distinct but in a quartet that's not always a good thing. Alessi in particular when I've heard him with NY Phil's trombone section sound amazingly tight and produce a tone as a section that easily rivals this.
