Rather than get lazy and just speed up all of your footage and/or show us every single step of the process and ending up with a half hour long video (that I would have just skimmed through anyway), you used well chosen shots. I've just developed an interest in woodworking, still in the researching phase (watching RU-vid videos). I get excited watching your videos because I'm not sure what's going to happen next, like in this one when you were cutting the small light triangles but then it all comes together and there is an elegance to the simplicity. I stumbled onto your video slabbing the spalted silver maple when watching log milling videos (the only milling video where you don't mention the mill being home built). I liked your approach, easy going but passionate and wanted to learn more about you. I clicked over to your site and wanted to read your bio but down at the of the drop down under "posts" was building a bandsaw mill. As a tooling and equipment design that sounded very interesting. I clicked the link and was like "cool" he built the sawmill. But when I clicked that first video and you were dragging that steel off and starting the layout in your driveway I was like "what???" I'm involved in building large manufacturing machines and then designing to the tooling for those machines, We have a large machine shop, large fab shop a team of maintenance men and electricians and we do really nice work, I say this with absolute admiration, watching you drill those big holes by hand or on the table top drill press was painful at times. Which made the band saw mill you built at home, in your driveway so much more impressive. I binge watched the entire series in the next 20 or so hours, and was more and more impressed with each minute of watching you build it, always with your regular chuckles and smiles. You sir are a very high quality person and unquestionably a great father and husband. Congratulations on your growing family and thinks for taking the time to share it with fans like me.
