A fun little interaction for Slifer is also using "Burden of the Mighty", as it's effect is continuous, it actually allows Slifer's effect to take out monsters that are higher then 2000 ATK. Really niche usage, but played a few hands where opponent was dropping things a bit too big to take out with Slifer's effect and Burden helped clean that up. Not really main board tech, but fun to have in the sideboard just in case.
Currently building my own Slifer deck with the Poker Knights (I know they're Arcana Knights, but Poker Knights sounds better). Looks like I can build two versions of a Slifer deck. Thanks for the inspiration!
DAD, which one's your favourite Egyptian God card? Slifer seems to be one of the more consistent of the three Egyptian God cards. Obelisk apparently did see competitive play at one point, yet you have to invest heavily to get the full benefit - and Obelisk cannot be powered up as well as Slifer. Ra relies more on its recent support (Ancient Chant, Millennium Chant, Advance Draw, Sphere Mode, Egyptian God Slime), otherwise you're draining yourself too 100 LP or Summoning something with 0 ATK.
Problem with Mound of the Bound Creator is that if you're opponent has a level 10 on the field, which is very possible, they'll deal 1000 to you every time they destroy one of your monsters
Anyone explain why Set Rotation is run here? The explanation that Mound of the Bound Creator as a blanket effect doesn't make sense, since Set Rotation sets 2 field spells face-down, meaning neither of their effects would be applied. I think DaD mentions that if Mound is destroyed on your opp's field then you'd still get the Slifer add, but seeing as no Spell/Trap destruction is run in this deck, it doesn't seem very applicable.
@@DarkArmedDuelist right, but since Network is set on your field, you wouldn't be able to activate it's effects? What advantage do you get from it being set?
Set rotation basically locks field spells from being played until both set cards are activated or destroyed. So if you give your opponent Mound they’ll have to either destroy it while it’s set or activate so they can play another field spell.
