I always was in love with Rhonda Fleming growing up. I sent her several fan letters and once received an autographed picture where she addressed me by name. What a thrill!!! I seldom missed any movie on which she appeared. But this is my favorite of them all. She’s so beautiful and the all around “good guy” in this film.

Wonderful movie. Never heard of this one before. Wrote to Arlene a few years before she passed, got a nice letter and autograph in return.

The cops say they're looking for a girl in her early 20's, but Arlene was 31 in 1956 and Rhonda was 33. They both looked gorgeous, don't know why they couldn't have played their ages. Beautiful midcentury sets and costumes!

Both Rhoda and Arlene had the same number of husbands, each 6, and both died around the same time about the same age and some months apart, it is believed that the two actresses were good friends.

That beach road to the beach house, I was there a couple weeks ago, Westward Beach, Malibu, next to Zuma. It's a huge parking lot filled with cars now... ;-( LOTS of filming has been done there... Used to be a "secret" beach. ;-)

The autos are the real stars in this one. Christopher Marlowe inspired so many writers his peer Shakespeare would be envious. Ronda Fleming.. wow what a statuesque beauty she is in this!

A estrtica do anos 1950 esta toda presente nesse filme digigido por Alan Dwan, um veterano de Hollywood! O que sempre me impressionou e como a America sempre se sobrepos, nos seus anos douradas, a qualquer veleidade autoral de seus artistas, todos em geral conscientes em servi-la como a propria marca da modernidade. Num filme com este, de quase 70 anos agora, a qualidade profissional chega a ser absurda, ja que narealidade da epoca nao era uma excecao!

At 76 years of age it is not surprising that I am drawn to the older movies in which character development takes precedence over excessive special effects. However, one thing that does irritate me with many of the older movies is the smoking. So many of these older movies start out with (and continue with) people lighting up those filthy and disgusting props. Smoking became highly popular during and then after the WW2 years, largely because the tobacco companies had provided free cigarettes to our military. Then, pushing a so-called glamour in the movies with the tough guys and the pretty women smoking continued the promotion.. Habits and addictions resulted, becoming "normal" in the eyes of many. Trust me, as a child who struggled with asthma, breathing in secondhand cigarette smoke was far beyond disgusting. Okay, now back to the movie.....

Hay gente como Dorothy. Piensan que pueden hacer lo que quieran, sin consecuencias ni responsabilidad. Personalmente pienso que "salvarlos",sólo hace que causen más daño y evitan que, en muy pocos casos, vean la luz(no religiosa), y en otros muchos, vean que sus acciones tienen consecuencias. Yo creo que son psicópatas, aunque no maten a nadie.

Great movie! I love John Payne and Rhonda Fleming, but I never watched Arlene Dahl before except for some game show my Mom watched (she played Dor). I'm glad they didn't make Rhonda into a stick figure like most popular actresses were; I thought she looked great with just a little extra flesh on her bones. Ellen Corby :) TY CCC! I love the fashions of the '50s and these suits were stunning but the only designer listed was for Arlene Dahl's negligee -- Arlene Dahl Creations. IMDb listed Norma Koch as Costume Designer but uncredited. Strange.

Anyone with an eye for detail will notice the posts on the staircase where the sisters lived. A couple of the posts are phallic symbols. Interesting to handle when going up or down the stairs, compliments of a gay set designer, I imagine.
