That is a really good idea. i been fitting and welding for over 20 years and have never seen anything like this. I may have to get 1 or 2 for my self.

Could have used these Slim-Line Clamps in Alaska 30 years ago. I got stuck doing a lot of stuff all by myself Ended up build my own devices, but it would have been nice to just be able to purchase them but not sure they existed in the early 1990s. If someone didn't tell you about something, or have it to show to you or if it wasn't in a catalog, then it didn't exist in Alaska.

Everything is quite simple with Mr Slim...nice device.

good idea. you can add safty bar to upper crank arm just in case slip down accident. and seems to be O-ring need to joint clamp. when welding long pipe jointed elbow to same elbow, you run or ladder up to take off O ring.

question though : ...how can you get the ring out the pipe line when it is an long one? the weigh in a 10" pipe , it mean business!

As previously said, I'd have 4 tacks in that and started welding long before you finished taking that clamp off
