I just found out about Slim half an hour ago, and I love his singing voice already... Slim definitely had one of the most beautiful singing voices that I have ever listened to.
I love Slim Whitman. My cousin Loved him and saw him in Montana. He said when Slim walked out on the stage and the school kids booed him, until he srarted singing, then you could hear a pin drop after he got done singing.
My mother always played his music when we were growing up in Africa, it would make her cry and miss our dad who died when we were all very young. She passed away in 1985round about 2006ish Slim did his final tour of the UK and we were sat 4 rows from the front. Oh I so wished my mother could have been there next to me.
My Aunt Pat loved Slim Whitman, unfortunately she passed last year, On her way to crematorium we had "It's A Sin" & her brother sang it full blast ❤, after we had "Blue Eyes Cring In The Rain", hope they were OK 😢
When the great man passed away I wrote these words slim has gone we won't forget that voice in heaven made that voice will. Always be with us from far beyond the grave he will still be singing up there on high we will all be listening as it drifts across the sky
Ich bin liker Nummer 1001: als ich ein Kleinkind war spielte ich dieses Lied immer wieder aus Schellach 78/sek Umdrehung denke ich, herrliches Gefühl immer wieder
I’m a big fan of Slim Whitman, but I have to say the one who had a big hit with it is another favourite Hank Locklin there is not a lot in it but I prefer Hanks version
kenneth garrison How sad it is when your companion doesn't want to, at least, share a bit of your liking... and/or respect you with your preferences even though she/he doesn't agree... I prefer Classical music, but I also like many singers, (Slim W, Marty Robins, Engelbert H... Roy Orbison) and some of their different songs, not caring much about the «kind» of music... and never will I ! 1st P.S. By the way, I just adore Scottish Bagpipe... :-) 2 nd P.S. I'm also buff on WW2 history! ;-) Have a nice day! :-)
H BAILLARGEON I guess opposites attract. "After being too close to happiness I'm punished with 45 years of deserved sadness. Only lost love love songs caress me.
