This is such a beautiful aircraft. You Tuber “Pilot Bambi” flew a Sling high wing from Europe back to the aircraft’s home base in South Africa and she documented the journey in several awesome videos. Such a well designed aircraft. Nice to see the man who designed it ! Thanks. 👍
With the proposed Mosaic rules this airplane is 1 knot off from qualifying as a LSA. If that is fixed, will US customers be able to buy a new factory built Sling High Wing without having to build it or be labeled an experimental?
@@A.J.1656 Each individual one is its own certification. Well yes, they do have a template POH that is exactly as built and demonstrated, if you wanted to you can actually certify it for aerobatic or for a higher weight limit too. Just gotta re-test fly it and certify it as such. Personally I'd certify it under LSA rule and as a high weight limit high performance as well
You can add additional long range fuel tanks where the back seats are, which enables over 17.5 hours flying time (and which was used to cross the Atlantic). They had 2 x 44 gallon ferry tanks (factory made) in the back - hence left and right fuel switch to pump into main fuel system.
@@cdrsss Nice, thanks for your help! I hope that wasn't just a few easy clicks and some typing for you. Perhaps your source is newer than my attempt but I suspect that it is not and I'm to blame for not finding it. I try never to ask questions in the comments but did want to at least point out that it was either odd, or a poor use of an off-the-shelf part.
@@arcanondrum6543 There's a presentation by the owner on RU-vid where she describes building it herself at the factory and the preparation they did for the trip (45 minutes long).
