My son Liam and I go out to look for moose with a longbow and grouse with slingshots. We didn't have any luck with the moose, but we got a grouse and had a great time in the woods. We return home and in the evening I cook up a cornish game hen style dish in a cast iron dutch oven in the fire. It was amazing!

Hey Sturm... great vids as always. Very cool to get your son, Liam, out and about hunting. Question for you. How wide is the space between the forks on your spalted alder build? I know you prefer a 4-inch wide O.D. However, searching your vids I cannot find a mention of the inside gap between the forks. Appreciate your in-put as always.

Great question! I have never measured the inside fork gap on my slingshots. When I get home from hunting today I will measure that for ya! I figure if it goes over the top, middle gap does not matter much. Something to think about. Thanks!

I just measured a bunch of them including the alder natural you asked about. They are all at 2.25 inches or very close. The alder is exactly 2.25 inside fork gap.

What is the reason that my new rubber gets deep scratches in the rubber after 10 to 15 shots? What could be the reason for this?

Could be several reasons. 1. Sharp edges on your frame that get hit during a shot. 2 tweaking your release (flinching) is causing a near fork hit that pinches the band between the ball and the fork as it goes by. Without seeing it I have no idea. Post it on one of the forums with a pic and people will probably get you sorted.

Light bands, consistent anchor point. Breathe out half a breath and hold it before releasing.
