@@4x4.tests.on.rollers for example: did you use the same tires and the same sizes on the two cars? Was the road surface identical in comparisons? The tests must be done under the same conditions, otherwise they are not reliable.
@@Giacon2001 Do you see any lack of grip here? Do you see any slippage of wheels which are on road surface? No? So how do the tyres influence the test huh? This test is about power distribution, not about grip. When it comes to sizes - both cars are on their original, homologated wheels so what do you expect, using some non-homologated ones and then the test would be reliable?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers It does not matter what the standard equipment is, the conditions of the comparison must be identical (if we want to make a comparison of scientific value). the difference in grip exists, as demonstrated by the passenger seated in the back who made the difference.
@@Giacon2001 Unfortunately you have no idea what grip is. Car was not missing a grip, no matter where the passenger was. Standard equipment is crucial cause this is how you use the car, this is how you get to car when you buy it. You want to modify the cars - then it would be not fair.
My Tiguan is the same as the one 2012 in the video, what an amazing little crossover, I drove 6 winters now, it is never disappointing, i rarely realized how 4Motion was working,I drove past Infiniti fx35,Toyota Rav4,Honda CRV,Lexus, Kia Sportage all stuck in snow while going to work, the Tiguan drives like nothing, people always thought I was a good driver (I am not lol, I am noob) 4Motion is awesome. One of the safest things to buy for your family if you have snow/bad roads, it is comfortable, a bit sporty, and upscale, best option if you don't want to pay for premium cars.
Ottima in autostrada e comoda nelle strade urbane.
@@muhammadmd2148 Both have 320 Nm from 2.0 engine. In TSI it available from 1500 rpm, in TDI from 1750 rpm. It doesn't matter cause only small part of that is used in a test.
it's interesting to see how many SUV struggle when grip is limited to one rear wheel. I would have expected some kind of rear diff lock to be standard but obviously not.
Most of the AWD out there, are not capable to send enough torque to the rear wheels, many SUVS has the "overheating light" to tell you when is switching off the AWD to prevent problems. Subaru is one the few brands out there that can really transfer power to the rear wheels without having problems.
Tiquan 2 was sending torque to the rear wheel but its suspension was so stiff it didn't have grip. Only when the passenger moved to put more weight on that wheel did the car drive off the rollers.

Might sound weird but could you please test the new 4x4 Suzuki Swift and/or Ignis? It's unusual for a car in those categories to offer an awd system and I'm wondering if they cheaped out or not.

Hello guys. I need your help. I want to buy a Tiguan 1 awd as a second hand. How about it's space? Its ok for a family with one kid and the camping gear or i need something bigger? Also its reliable? Thanks
To have the Best....would be enough to put a manual difflock on the rear axle (as for vwT5/T6) with mechanical locking instead elechtronic locking based on EDB. I have a Tiguan 2 with Haldex V gen and i've to say it is amazing on snow and wet grass.
Do you need to rev the car, to get the rear wheels to engage, I say because I have a 2010 Tiguan Escape and had an issue today. I got 2 wheels on the passenger side of the car in deep mud but the other side on tarmac and just trying to tease the car out with low revs didn't seem to work, even engaging the off road mode at low rpm didn't get the car out, it's only when I increased rpm that the car got unstuck ,(still in off road mode) disappointed in the car as I'm sure my Suzuki grand Vitara gen 2 wouldn't have not even flinched without engaging diff lock. Just ordered some general grabber at3,s for the car but not much good if the 4x4 doesn't work, any ideas or experience would be appreciated, is there a way to test the 4 motion without getting stuck somewhere?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers thanks so much for your swift reply, I'm glad to know that I haven't got an issue, can't wait to get the grabbers on the car, best regards from me in Devon UK.
Mam Tiguana I 2.0 TDI 4Motion z Haldexem 4-gen. i jestem ciekaw testu porównawczego: Tiguan I Haldex 4-gen.VS Tiguan I Haldex 5-gen.

Differencial lock (rear, mid, front) is an option on some car brands/models (including the Tiguan), that means that if you don't know that, you could end up testing a model that has NO differencial lock and it WILL fail. That's the only thing that will make a difference with those tests. Nothing to do with tiguan I or II or anything else. No matter what car, brand, modell, as long as it is AWD WITH 3 differencial locks (rear, middle AND front), it WILL succeed. So this test is useless, because the only thing you need to know is whether there is differencial lock and if yes, is it a rear lock, mid, front, mid + rear, mid + front, rear + mid + front, etc. For this reason, these tests are useless except for entertainment. So I can say it is funny to watch this channel, but for entertainment purpose only. Because we don't even know what options every car has, so these videos don't show/proof anything excepted that no diff lock fails, 3 diff locks win. That's all budy. As soon as you know that, it becomes boring watching those videos because this is a nonsense. A friend of mine has the modell without diff lock and mine does have it. It makes all the difference on rollers. His fails, mine succeeds. That's all folks.
1. Tiguan doesn't have any diff lock. 2. Tiguan doesn't even have center diff but a clutch-pack. 3. Diff locks are not needed at all to pass these tests. Well tuned traction control is needed. 4. Traction control (and similar systems) is standard in every modern car. But they do not work the same. Especially if cars are equipped with driving modes. That is a thing to test. 5. Apparently you have no idea what are roller tests about - this will help you to understand: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ntxgFjaX9HM.html
@@ArsenicShooter So like I said - no diff lock, not a single one. EDS ain't a locker, that's just a brake traction control system. And that's exactly what is put into the test here. XDS is same brake based system but for cornering performance.
Allways put a full size matching spare tire in the back... Or maybe just learn that there are limitations of active control in tiguan II. In my opinion Snow mode offers better traction because it upshifts earlier. Off road mode lags behind because it adds manual control of shifting via Tiptronic. In any case, very good example how not to accelerate in this vid. What specs do tested cars have? In my experience 150HP DSG performs better than 190HP DSG because of different DSG boxes. 190HP uses older (sturdier) DSG box from Tuareg that lags behind by quite a margin in tiguan II.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers A thought on my acceleration comment: Offroad mode Turned on disables ESC (ASR and EDL) automatically. There is also button next to mode dial to switch manually (1 second for ASR, 3 seconds for EDL). Sport mode also can switch it off. What I am missing in your vids is what the driver is doing, and what the car. It seems that traction control has not activated and that driver is manually pushing the pedal. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I would expect that traction control should take over the power to the wheels even if driver floored it. EDL should break the spinning wheels and give the power to the wheel on the ground. That is my understanding of how 4motion should work. What I am seeing in your videos is lots of spinning on all wheels. It seems that driver is giving power (not traction control) and at some point 4motion delivers enough power and the vehicle snaps from rollers. Don't make it wrong, your vids are great, only missing is a bit of technical description what is actually happening during and why.
@@JanezPregrad EDL/traction control is for sure not turned off, no matter what mode you choose, otherwise car would not get off the rollers. Drivers are informed to keep accelerator pedal on constant level or increase it if nothing is happening. Very often the system is changing the wheel spin and very often it is interpreted as driver input.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I agree, but I also assure you that as soon you switch dial to Offroad mode, you get ESC off indication light on dashboard. What that actually mean is not written in owners manual but in service training manual on page 38: "Later intervention of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and the traction control system (TCS)". Its confusing....
Did you turn off tiguan ii esp? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cYzmz8kCMWg.html If you turn off esp of tiguan II like this video, will it come out well?
TC is always on and it cannot be deactivated. Besides it's necessary to be active as front and rear diffs are open. Wheels didn't slip, there's enough space for tyres.
