I think this version is pretty much how it'd sound if this song was held over to "All Hope Is Gone" and Rick Rubin never touched it. Vol. 3 is an amazing album but it drove me nuts how for some reason Rubin thought Metal music needed a shit ton of distortion to make it sound cool when the end result just made it sound like you were streaming it at low quality. Every producer they had before and after never made that mistake. I've been dying for a total remaster of Vol. 3 ever since.
Incredibly well made remaster/remix. Same as the classic Duality, but with tiny, fitting differences. I personally really enjoy this version, but even if You don't, it's still nice having a different version of Duality, for the sake of it being different. Just like You sometimes prefer to listen to concert tracks instead of studio recordings, because they are the same song, but sound a bit different. Same thing applies here. Well done mate.
I push my fingers into my eyes It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache But it's made of all the things I have to take Jesus, it never ends, it works its way inside If the pain goes on I have screamed until my veins collapsed I've waited as my time's elapsed Now all I do is live with so much fate I've wished for this, I've bitched at that I've left behind this little fact You cannot kill what you did not create I've gotta say what I've gotta say And then I swear I'll go away But I can't promise you'll enjoy the noise I guess I'll save the best for last My future seems like one big past You're left with me 'cause you left me no choice I push my fingers into my eyes It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache If the pain goes on, I'm not gonna make it! Put me back together or separate the skin from bone Leave me all the pieces, then you can leave me alone Tell me the reality is better than the dream But I found out the hard way, nothing is what it seems! I push my fingers into my eyes It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache But it's made of all the things I have to take Jesus, it never ends, it works its way inside If the pain goes on, I'm not gonna make it! All I've got, all I've got is insane All I've got, all I've got is insane All I've got, all I've got is insane! All I've got, all I've got is insane! All I've got, all I've got is insane! All I've got, all I've got is insane! -taaaannn ALL I'VE GOT... ALL I'VE GOT IS INSAANEE!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of bass but a loss of guitar tones grit in those areas. Gives an “overproduced” sound but that’s what it would sound like if it was produced now to be honest. Missing reverb on vocals especially on long held notes.
