I swear dude I disliked slipknot at first bc I did not like how tuned their recorded songs are, but when they perform live and they let the intrumentations loose and go easy on tuning their music I FUCKING LOVE IT
same I actually do not like almost any of their studio songs but once it's live I love them. I mean spit it out imo sounds shit studio but live it's amazing
@@phatjesus57 Also they have aged a great deal. Their bodies cannot perform like this anymore, and their musical interests have diversified with age. It's natural for people to change up their sound as they age to keep the creative spark going.
Haha you were actually pretty close with your analysis of this songs meaning with screw people except they were talking about specific people in this song, namely record labels. In their attempts to gain exposure and get signed so they could make some money, they were basically all broke and living at Paul Grey's (RIP the legend) house at the time when they weren't on tour, and record labels seeing how popular they were because they were different kept trying to screw them over. This song is about those people. I apologize in advance this was my favorite band growing up and I know a lot of useless info about them haha
@@Hoopsick would you believe it if I told you I have one of those written, and signed, by Corey Taylor? 😅 thats where a lot of this comes from. That and old interviews with the band
I believe they wrote this as a middle finger to Sony records if I am correct. They basically asked the band to write a "radio friendly" song. That is why in all of their shows, Corey always say "the next song is called, 'the heretic anthem'" as if he is introducing the song to the record labels. Now all that said, I'm not sure about the accuracy of what i've just written. Lol.
Dude love the channel and love the reactions highly underrated as well as listening to my favorite band keep it up my guy and remember persistence is the key.
I love James' old mask. Just raw lookin'. Slipknots self titled and Iowa albums introduced me to a whole new experience of music. Its been a great way for me to vent and release frustrations over the years. I've never looked back. Been a maggot for over 20 years🤘
Hoop, it's really cool to see you going through this journey, but you honestly need to hear the studio versions of these great songs on your own time to understand the lyrics as well. Either way, really cool to watch you. It reminds me of when I found Slipknot. By the way, I see the 6ers and Penn State. I'm hoping your and Eagles Fan too. Philly Stand Up!
I always think this is a song that's better for first time listeners to hear direct off the studio version. You get hear the pure hate inside the lyrics. Don't get me wrong though, this is still fire!
I love how you get the vibe of the album. As you said it is supposed to be the biggest fucking middle finger to anyone that is annoying you or just hypocrites and heretics that are destroying us and pulling us apart. This album is freedom man
during quarantine: i listening twice dude that song created by slipknot on my opinion is so very heavier i wouldnt say another words but this is heavy song i ever heard on this band. also matter fact i comparing on the album version but this live version perform at London arena year 2002 was devastating they gone much heavy, the Hi def quality of sound plus when i gearing up with Dolby holy gee it almost my earphones and ears they blown crack it might be damaging. hell yeah the Heretic Anthem song ill been begun obessed on demon nah just kidden😅 ill just a fan of Slipknot esp. the Corey's iowa mask is my favorite
This is that song were if you see one those pretty pop stars you just want to BITCHSLAP one of them. Or if you are one of them you just want to bash your own 💀 against the wall.
This is about a record label the screwed them over and they made a song about them plus the record label wanted them to change and Slipknot made the song
