@99mmpick They're very close. The Mezza can be a little tighter. The NFB knob is very effective in changing the overall sound and feel. I want to add one to my SLO. Touch sensitivity, wash. The Mezza is more versatile, EL34 mids that cut. The SLO a bit sweeter, keeps up versatility wise with an od pushing it, has a handy effects loop volume that would be a great addition to the Mezza.
I have had both and tone wise, yeah, both are pretty similar. The Mezzabarba has more "usable" gain and is tuned tighter. That said, while the SLO is a bit bigger and looser, I find it also has more of that vintage amp give when playing leads. If I had to have only one? SLO. That feel combined with the punch and clarity is legendary for a very good reason and with a good overdrive and careful eq work, you can get it to do what the Mezzabarba does.
