An historic day in #SLOCounty with #LopezLake filling for the first time in 25 years. A lot of folks were eager to see water flowing over the spillway at approximately 6:00 a.m. today, March 23rd. While there was concern of flooding downstream Public Works has been monitoring the spillway and creek levels as water travels from the reservoir to the ocean. Based on the current volume of water spilling from the reservoir and only a minimal chance for rain through next Tuesday, the County has
determined that the risk to residents near the #ArroyoGrande Creek Levee in #Oceano has subsided.
The County Office of Emergency Services has lifted the Evacuation Warning for those residents.
“We remind residents near Arroyo Grande Creek to remain vigilant as another storm is expected to move in early next week,” said Emergency Services Manager Scott Jalbert, “the risk for flooding will continue through spring. #CAStorms #CArains #CAReservoirs
