One of the consistent things I kept hearing about him is his unpredictability. It even went as far as being said that there's no Slot ball as he doesn't conform to one certain type of style. You just don't know what you gonna get from him. You have to wait and see. I was impressed with those words as Klopp had become stubborn and a bit predictable. We needed new exciting unpredictability in the team.
@Pillar.100 he has so many tactical solutions. So often experienced at Feyenoord that he already makes tactical changes after 20 minutes during an injury or something when things are not going so well. And yes, 9 out of 10 times it changes for the better.
@@Pillar.100 that's slot in a nutshell, he adapts easily on the opposition tactics, it still early Tho but in the Dutch league, he had that knack in him
@@Pillar.100 verry true, sometimes when it just didnt worked out the first 20 mins, he just calls a few players to him and let them make small adustments in their positioning, or buildup plan and things just start working way more smooth, or he has already done that before the game, he really looks at how the opponents are pressing and building up and just slightly adjust to that. while his main principals of playing the game will always stay the same, with alot of pressing and having the ball as much as possible with just small adjustments depending on the oppent and their style of play, field coverage, way of pressing and their weak points
Bajcetic + Morton are good options as double pivot…. When they played together both Betis and Arsenal had no big chances and were effectively shut out. Both 6ft 2, and at 19 and 21 they have pace, energy, press and tackle all day and all night long.
@@マジマジ-u8w Endo will not suit the system. I hope he doesn't start, Ten Hag was forced to use players that didn't suit his playstyle and it didn't work well.
Remind both the UCL match Atletico Madrid- Feyenoord and the preseason match Feyenoord-Atletico Madrid. Atletico hardly got any chances to score and faced continuous high pressing. Similarly, Ajax home and away last season against Feyenoord. In all instances, Slot made sure his squad would defend agressively without injuring the opponent. Feyenoord attacked agressively to score as many goals as possible. LFC fans, give Slot some time and he will deliver.
You should look at the starting line ups. Furthermore, preseason games mean nothing. Pep drew with celtic who he can beat 5 6 nil on any regular match.
@@BasicallyVader Take what ever you want away from that game, but what I saw was Arteta instructing his team to do full press for majority of the game in 30 degree heat condition to get them prepared for the real games. Also, second half even the boss said you guys got dominated. But yeah sure I guess results matter in preseason, can't wait for them to count the two goals toward your GD, oh wait.... 🤣
I agree this was the litmus test Slott needed to know how they are progressing. I think there’s still a lot to work out in the midfield. Curtis is one of Liverpool’s best players for being press resistant but there’s still some immaturity in his game. They do need a DM is who can play through the line and retain possession as well. But the midfield and the left side will need some work. Great defensive structure particularly in adapting to neutralise Arsenal’s back 3 build up. I love his overloads on the wing when in possession so he can progress centrally and also overloads to pin the opposition in their press to get the ball.
I think Bajetic and Gravenberg will good substitutes for Endo and McAllister as double pivot tactic looks to liverpool's way forward. If Trent is to invert from fullback to center it would mean McAllister will push up to link up Dominic and who ever is a striker Nunez or Jota... then it's open season on the opposition's half spaces. I fear man marking is gon play a bigger role this season after the triumph of Atalanta in UEFA EUROPA. It might be a low goal season. TACTICAL Pressing systems have reached the ceiling now.
Consider it his first seasons, Slot really prefer to maximize what Klopp leave for him to learn and adapt with this new environment. So for his first season im very positive even without any new signing yet, give him more time to acknowladge to improvise later on.
Yeah, as an Arsenal fan, Unai Emery's first season with us more heavily resembled the Wenger years than what a typical Emery setup would look like because the personnel and structure were already pretty well set in by that point. It's part of why we went on that 19 game unbeaten run starting off. Gotta give Slot time not just to prove he can hack it, but just to see what *his* approach will be instead of relying on the in-place Klopp structure.
@@TheLoveHealingCompanyhe never said he was a slave man well makes sense that u say that because you yourself look jobless so makes sense u say don’t have a boss because you don’t work
TBH he played kinda similar to that at times for Northern Ireland. Was also receiving the ball on the half-turn like a DM and making runs in behind (which he scored from) like a striker.
I watched Slot's first press conference as Liverpool boss, during which it was suggested within a question that he plays a 4231. He didn't seem happy with that assessment at all and really stressed that he didn't (which I found a bit odd, because modern managers don't seem to care about starting formations all that much.) The point is, hearing you now boldly say he prefers a 4231 makes me wonder.
The exposure of the academy players of LFC v Real Betis was a joy to watch Trust that this youngsters are not hived off to foreign clubs Energy is what is needed and Klopp was instrumental in utilising this last season Slot is a very astute to see this Bring it on 💪 Also key is defence........wins Titles YNWA
City have Rodri and before that Fernandinho. Liverpool had Fabinho. Chelsea and Leicester had Kante. Mourinho's Chelsea had Matic. The last time a team won the Prem without a top DM was probably Fergie's United.
Ive always said cant judge him in preseason or too early in the season, im waiting till halfway and see where we are but not gona lie im liking what im seeing so far especially the fact that prety much whole 1st team is missing can only get better but still early days
I hope Slot puts out a midfield of Bajcetic, Endo, Gakpo, Szobo and Elliot because a big problem last season I felt is that we were too predictable and tried the same system of the wingers just running in behind and cutting it back/crossing it in. It would be good to see how we could play with Gakpo and Elliott, two players who are brilliant at driving inwards and Szoboszlai being able to make runs on either side and play as the CAM/SS with 2 DMs who can move forward to cover him. Might give us options against certain opponents we didn’t have last season.
Arteta only experimenting with academy players but Liverpool fans already make statement that Liverpool are better already. Too many Arsenal starting 11 played too much in Euro 2024, they are still in vacation mode or absent. Arsenal have no beef with Liverpool, if Arsenal meet City Arteta would not so experimental in selection.
arsenals backline without saliba or timber was not it. liverpool need to work on their build up patterns cus going long wont work consistently especially when teams are at full strength in the backline
It's funny. Zinchenko was not defending well and Liverpool thinks they are there. They good though but if tomiyasu or timber was the left back, they won't have those chances
@@BigV24 i'm not saying that they were playing the best they could either, they're buildup wasn't very good in that match and im saying they need to improve it. don't take every piece of criticism personally
I hope we see Szobo playing more at CAM because as good of a CM he is, a lot of his game doesn’t show when he is this deep. At his best, he’s a CAM who can run a whole game by himself and has the ability in the box and outside of it. Maybe we see Harvey on the RW, something I think will work because he doesn’t need to stretch defences or beat fullbacks to be important and the CAM/ST can make that run behind the LB/LCB.
Tbf Bajetic hasn't played in the Prem since like Spring 2023. That's an eternity when it comes to football. We also don't know how he will play after such a long injury layoff
I’m loving the arne way tbh. How he has the team playing in a short amount of time is something. Considering half our key players aren’t even playing yet shows what is likely to happen this season. The front four of Nunez, Elliot, Salah and Diaz press and relentless energy will be key. With that Nunez will need to be more clinical than last season. We need at least 2 players in (a LB/LCB and a DM). I’d go for dimarco or hincapie. As for DM, hjullmand, zubimendi or Wharton As for the preferred XI I believe is key to compliment Arne’s style are; Alisson Trent quansah vvd robbo Elliot Macca szobo Mo gakpo Diaz
The only scary issue is the building up the attack starting from Kelle is slow. He should be faster and not give a chance to contender to press on our defenders. The other issue is: our lads should play faster tempo to prevent contender from controlling the ball.
We still need a better DM (eventually one of Bajcetic, Morton, or even Nyoni or Clark will be that guy, but we need to focus on winning now while the futures of Salah/VVD/are so uncertain), more depth at fullback (I'm unconvinced Tsimikas is PL level, and Joe Gomez doesn't really fit either role), and maybe a plan B, aerially proficient striker (just look at how effective Joselu and Havertz were at centre forward...now imagine a similar type of player with the two best crossing fullbacks in the world). There's definitely good stuff that I'm seeing, but I worry that by the time the squad is fully integrated into the Slot system the core players will have left and we'll be stuck where United have been for so long after holding their assets for too long and bringing in marginal (if any) sums for core players.
Convert Quansah into DM? He is good with the ball, very comfortable on the ball. Very strong defensively. Very good in reading the game. The rare offensive CB, like Matip. Or convert Joe Gomez and DM. Gomez was very good as an inverted LB.
Gomez played DM for a couple games last season and his positioning was very bad. Left the entire midfield exposed. His actual defending was alright though. Keep him LB for now
I tell you what he has big decisions to make on those youngsters who could possibly make an impact in first team do we sell Sepp a promising centre back like Jarell and splurge money on another one but anyway that DM position fullback are areas of concern
Hello fms. I am a Chelsea fan and I’ve been checking to see if you’ll make any video related to the new head coach at Chelsea but not a single one.. pls can we Chelsea fans get one from you ?
DM needed. Double pivot without a proper DMs is not going to work. FSG better be shopping. This idea that any player can develop to play in a particular position isn't so easy... They need to buy... They have the money.
Firstly, Slot has not got his full team with him in training. Making a judgement based on a lack of data is daft. Klopp left him the best squad we have ever had.
@@thulunggamwshahary673 1. Klopp and Slot share a similar profile. So it's not supposed to take long before the squad adapts to the new guy. 2. Slot inherited a team that competed for the league last season. So it's not like he inherited a midtable team lol. 3. It's only pre-season lol, Slot has hinted that Liverpool will have to spend money to cover some positions in their squad. So what are you basing this supposed early "Astonishment" on?
@@Hentzau. The system itself is different. Klopp didn't play with a number 10. Every team make a move even before the preseason and if he hasn't suggest anything like it during the preseason that means he is determined to make the previous project continue as it is. #notlol
From the back out is my biggest concern, however if the ball can come out much quicker wich means two -three less passes from the defenders then I'm good with it we should NEVER EVER RELY ON PLAYING OUT FROM THE BACK ARNE SLOT WE KNOW YOU WILL PROSPER AT THIS GREAT CLUB. YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE.
Liverpool will struggle against teams who apply high press. Curtis and Endo can play pivot. Endo over performed last time cause of Klopp but for a slow build up he will fail.
they desperately need a world class 6 that can turn under pressure and beat the press. endo is unfortunately not that guy. bajcetic is too young plus came back from a season long injury
Liverpool fans gassing that result too much. Whether Arsenal had more of their first team out than Liverpool did it doesn't change the fact that the attacking forwards you started are BETTER than our best attack LOL. It is also necessary to mention that Kiwior and Zinchenko who are not good enough to deal with a Jota and Salah and Eliott etc were both the ones responsible for the goals. Stop lying to make yourselves feel better. Your manager is good you can give him props without trying to underrate another team for once. You always do this nonsense. Calafiori, Saliba , Timber, Rice , Tomiyasu, none of them were on the pitch and they are essential for Arteta to counterract attacking threats. It's a damn preseason game.
And also most of lfc 1st eleven didnt play as well. Although on paper arsenal do have stronger side than liverpool in this game. Even with limited squad like this its a good start for liverpool. From there, they will build their great momentum for upcoming season.
😂🤣 ohhh scouters. Feeling confident are you? You won’t even make top 4. But I’m glad we are now the bar you measure yourselves with and hope to live up to. COYG.
Tbf it's a preseason match so can't read too much about it. Arsenal are a strong side and dominated possession for majority of the game which is not a surprise. From a Liverpool perspective the first half after 10min especially is a very good sign of things to come. Team still needs time to adapt to the new tactics and tweaks. Generally speaking they are still a very good team and were in a 3horse race upto the last 5/6 games last season. Their rebuild season mind you. So they are entitled to feel confident anyway, not just because of this results but because of the early positive signs. We'll see how the season pans out but I don't think being excited about the new season is a bad thing at all.
That becoz Klopp has left the side well-drilled ... I didn't see anything very different against Arsenal from how they played under Klopp. The difference was mostly in the 2nd half ...Liverpool would have tried to be more positive despite the lead under Klopp in stead of being pragmatic .
