Visited Predjamski Grad as a kid back in 1960s. It wasn’t a tourist trap then, minimal café, shop etc. Remember drinking fantastic fresh homemade lemonade with a straw that really was a bit of straw = no single use plastics back then! Nearby Postojna Caves are worth a visit. A mindbogglingly vast cavern network with weird species of transparent fish with legs that evolved in isolation since pre-historic times.

Enjoying this series, genius to put it on during the current spate of gales and wet weather in the UK. @9.50 the comment on churches, we have quite a few in the UK but you probably don't notice them, indeed next door to you Northamptonshire is not called the County of Spires and Squires for nothing!

Spooky that you mentioned Lake Annecy in France as I watched one of your early videos of a flight over it while I was waiting for you to upload this episode! Personally I would avoid Croatia and stay in Slovenia, No point in paying £1200 for a week's riding and being forced to stick to a speed limit.

Another very nice video TMF. Had same issue with "Wibbly Wobbly" iPhone twice, bike vibration wrecks the camera optical stabilisation especially when mounted on handlebars. Apple fixed it though free of charge. Not had same problem with latest model (yet).

They charged me £400 to fix mine, and annoyingly a couple of months later I've just shelled out on another new iPhone entirely...shan't be mounting this one on the bike though......

Very enjoyable ,in Predjama castle its interior is beautiful and the town near to thiw castle the name is Postonjia it has the largest cave to take you on a mini train tour , fantastic. A shame you didn't go because i believe it is one of the beautiful sights in SLOVENIA. Α FRIEND FROM GREECE. { i have some small videos from the castle and the cave to see if you like }

A touch of-preload on the way up, and a tad of rev-matching on the way down and you should eliminate a lot of that gearbox clunk ;)

I always rev-match, it's nice to make a habit of doing it without even thinking about it. And your gearbox will certainly be better for it, though I only do it from 2nd to 1st gear as the rest are pretty close and don't require it. As for preload, that's only needed when you're doing clutchless shifts. I preload both up and down and the result is much smoother, of course. This is why automatic gearboxes take away from the overall skill of riding, whoever rides DCT doesn't have any need for shifting (or indeed the good skill for it, beyond basics). Even quickshifters have the same effect despite having rev-matching aka blipping, because it's done for you automatically and you don't need to know how. Personally, I can only stomach automatic gearboxes in cars and trucks (and buses I guess, though I haven't driven any so far). I actually prefer them in trucks because shifting 16 or 18 speeds can really be a drag. Scooters are exception because they're made with CVT and there's no way around it. Given the choice, I prefer a manual with optional QS/blipper rather than DCT.

Nice jimjams. Speed fines. I was in Croatia and there’s a bit of Bosnia that comes right down to the coast and you must cross. The entire stretch is 20kmph and at the end of it is a crooked cop trying to fleece you out of a 1000 euros. I barted him down to 50 I think. My heart was beating fast as I had visions of being sent to the slammer with a bar of soap and some arse cream.

I would love to ride again but the weather is bad; too much wind with heavy showers. The strong wind will stay into next week. Little girls grow into big strong woman, little boys grow into big boys. In Belgium, through the whole year, the High Fence region is the coldest. In mid summer during bad weather it was bloody cold. If a camera has not enough weight, you will tremble. Try to make the picture just after breathing out and before breathing in. Again, beautiful country. Looks a bit like the east of Austria.

He makes 4x4 conversion kits for Citroen 2CV, and was featured on Top Gear - his 2CV 4x4 conversion won an off-road challenge against a Land Rover Defender. Louis lives in Samobor, Croatia now, which is right on the Slovenian border.
