One of things I was told is to always pull over as far as you can or find a pullout or something whenever possible. You don't want to leave the officer standing on the road in traffic.
The LDS church should put “ Best place to get pulled over in Pinal County!” on their sign. 😉😂 Thanks Frank. This helps get us through Friday even though there was no FwF this am, and Sam has left the Sheriff’s office. 😢
I always take a picture of the front+back of my license when I get it renewed, and I have pictures of the rest of my important documents as well. It's not an intentional choice to have it on my phone rather than in person, I just have a "backup copy" (for want of a better term) on my phone in case I don't have the original for any reason.
I have those things on my phone but only because I worked as a traveling healthcare professional and I was always having to send my ID and credentials various places. Retirement is nice.
I do it constantly, especially when I’m just driving down to my moms house or the vape store. Card on my Apple Pay so I don’t really think about “oh I need my wallet”. Not smart but it is very common
I am 55 the only reason i have to carry a wallet is my drivers license. everything else is on my phone. im about to just leave it in my truck so I can stop carrying a wallet.
I take care of my mom full time, so I got my id, her id, and then mine and her's credit cards... Then again she is a 80 year old woman that has trouble walking so anywhere outside the house I am at her side.... She dose tho keep her military id on her in a wallet in a fanny pack (little pouch worn around the hips).. In Minnesota where I grew up I always was told if you leave your property, have your id with you... Keep the wallet in a pocket even if it is a walk around the block...
I don't have any apps on my phone that it didn't come with. I hate this reliance on electronic crap that can be changed at the server level. Physical media/information is the way to go.
It is true that there is life outside the phone, at least for me. I only use my phone if it is really necessary, however, most people under 30 would probably develop PTSD if you separated them from their phone for more than 5 minutes.
Nope, you're not the only traffic cop who issues tickets and had people like him. There was a story of a cop in California who ran traffic for 20+ years and never had a single complaint filed against him. He was so nice and respectful that people loved him even though he issued them tickets. The news interviewed people he stopped and they all said the same thing, that that cop was such a nice guy.
Great news story for sure. In all the times I have been stopped due to my own stupidity, 95% of all the officers have always been professional and even personable. It's a two way street. But just cause the the news doesn't report it as common doesn't mean that it isn't. I personally think it's the opposite. An arrogant or disrespectful LEO is the rarity even tho it can happen.
It's amazing how many speeding tickets you give right in front of the Sheriff's Office! Also shocked how many drivers either don't have a license or it's suspended.
As the video ends, I am praying that this type of content would continue to expand to help restore a level of officer safety during traffic stops and other interactions. I am a former AZ resident, (Tucson, Flagstaff, and Casa Grande) and your videos remind me of home, oddly. Thank you for your service.
I'm Canadian. I've never been to Arizona. There are major roadways in the city I live in that I don't know the speed limit to, and I have to look at the sign on the road to make sure I'm not speeding. Thanks to Deputy Frank, I KNOW what the speed limit is on Ganzel and I always will.
Oooooooooor, here’s a thought, maybe governments catch up with the rest of the world and make licenses electronic. It already has a number…and they can already look you up easily. Same with the registration and insurance. Only ticket I’ve had in 20y is expired registration that the cop used a plate reader to identify. So why do need a piece of paper (that has to be SIGNED to be valid) to prove I have a valid registration?
Ahhh "Our Deputy Sloup" The 1st Police Deputy I See Every Friday BEFORE I Speak To "My/ Our Other Police Friends On Their Live Stream Much Later Tonight...Without ALL Of Them I Am Totally LOST!! Thank You For Keeping Us ALL SAFE Sheriff & Deputys!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Couple little tidbits. Many moons ago, my grandmother had a special, designed for the purpose pouch that hung from the trunk springs, the torsion kind, that was for her vehicle documents. I thought it was odd, but she said it's safe and she doesn't have to worry about anything happening to it when she was having the car services. Me, I keep two copies in my car in different locations. I also keep a picture of my DL on my phone in a secure folder as a back up in case I get absent minded and forget my wallet. Not my primary, but a redundancy.
You probably want to stay off Airbus airplanes that employ fly-by-wire systems. The tried-and-true DC-3's are far less complex and don't have those electronic systems.
it's just like how all the tech enthusiasts have all this "smart" tech everywhere, smart locks, smart thermostat, smart car, and then the actual technicians and engineers have mechanical locks, no smart home stuff, car from 2009, location and bluetooth on their phone is always off until they need it, even Mark Zuckerberg, the Zuck himself, puts a piece of tape over his webcam.
Love your T-Shirt Frank absolutely awesome, you sir are a legend and one of the best police officers around. Have a safe and blessed week officer Sloup and my St Michael watch over and protect you and your fellow law enforcement officers
Moved to pinal county a month ago! Glad to have you on the road deputy sloup. I hope I don’t see you under these circumstances but I am dying to get a picture with ya brother😂
I am glad Frank admits when he is wrong and then tells you why he was wrong. This is honesty and integrity and it's finest. And this is community policing at it's finest.
I guess I'm old school. Pen and paper, carry physical documents, be in compliance kind of thing. Glad you're out there straightening these things out. Man, it's gotta more than a little frustrating at times. You make it funny and educational. I'd lose my temper, lol 😂
In Illinois, you need a physical copy of your driver's license...because your driver's license is taken as a bond when you are issued a traffic ticket.
As much as I do agree with you dude, you should keep in mind that sadly there are a decent amount of people in this world who surprisingly don’t have a single clue of what common sense is. I’ve honestly lost count on how many of those types of people I’ve met already. 😂
@stevek8829 Brooklyn is a burrough of NYC, like Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Westchester, etc. Long Island is a not part of NYC. It is made up of 2 counties, Nassau & Suffolk.
@@dianej1714 you are a New Yorker. Long Island is a geographic feature, not political. There are several counties occupying it. It’s long been a custom for people to not refer to Brooklyn as Long Island because New York City residents are space cadets, Thanks for the confirmation. PS, Westchester isn’t one of the five boroughs of NYC. You might have said Richmond, if you actually knew NYC. Thanks for sharing.
I can't blame you on the physical presentation of the DL. I feel immediately naked if I get into my driver's seat and realize I don't have my wallet in my pocket with my DL inside. I will literally turn around and go grab it. Even with the "acceptable" app.
No better way to Start my weekend with "Fridays with Frank" 🤜🤛 Although today was even better because I love that T-shirt "Mountain of Right" and Just bought it !! Woohoo 😁
I'd be tempted to hid my registration if I parked in an attached garage. States won't let you black out the address (even though the database has it), so someone can break into your vehicle, take your remote, and go to your home and get easy access while you are at a movie, ball game, concert...
I was driving in Pinal County earlier this week to Maricopa from the res, and drove through Stanfield. My crappy paper tag was holding on by a thread... and the dust and dirt from the fields was getting kicked up by the wind too😅 Better believe I was driving the speed limit though... the paper tag didn't actually finally bite the dust until a few days later after I disembarked Maricopa, and had forgotten about it. I noticed it when I stopped for fuel at Costco in Buckeye😳 Thankfully, I was able to make it home and put the real plate on without getting nabbed.
Whoa! My 2006 kid is a very respectful, law abiding driver. Cops get frustrated with him for being too pokey (fact). However, I talked to a 2006’er who said he drives aggressive because of the other bad drivers. I should have asked him the bridge question.
My wife and i are from Suffolk county. People say Suffolk county pd is the worst but the 5 interactions iv had with Suffolk county pd in my life have all been really good to be honest. We’re from Shirley area and moved up to rocky point. Now we’re in South Carolina lmao
Get ‘em, Frank. I obey all the laws. I’m not looking for a pat on the back, because there’s nothing special about what I do. Pisses me off when others don’t.
