Total Geek mode on this vid. Loved it. I’m not good with electronics so it is cool to watch you figure this stuff out.

I watched to the end. From northern Saskatchewan, Canada. Don't even have the same sled as you anymore but seeing the real life gains every little thing makes is interesting to me. I appreciate the knowledge.

Thank you for the comment! I’m happy to hear you find the information interesting! Please share with your fellow sled nerd buddies. Im adding an aftermarket can next and then an aftermarket head.

Really cool!! I always wondered if the hoops I jump through to run non ethanol in my sled are really worth it. I might not be a good enough rider to see the difference 100-200 RPM makes but it’s cool to see the data that shows non ethanol really does perform better.

Good content, I dig your channel. I like the measured comparisons via data logger. Is the primary goal, of the clutch kit, to hit target rpm quickest? What impacts do the weights have vs springs? When your rpm is dialed, I wonder the difference in mass between your stock weights and the adjustable weights. Thanks 👍
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry 2 года назад
Thanks for watching and commenting. My goals and the reason I use the slp clutch kit are as follows. To have adjustable weights so I can tune without removing the weights from the clutch when I wanna make a change for my elevation and snow condition. The design of the weight grab the belt better and prevent slip. To answer your question about the mass difference. It’s kinda irrelevant because I’m using a spring that has a different spring rate than OEM. So the weight comparison is not apples to apples.
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry 2 года назад
The spring I’m using right now is the slp blue pink. It’s a 140/340 spring rate. And I’m using the magnum weights.

Great video! Did you load the screws to the bottom (tip) or middle of the weights? How about adding a pipe or billet head and using data logger to track gains?
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry 2 года назад
With the SLP magnum weights they recommend loading the screws all the way until they bottom out. That’s what I did. The plan was to put on the stage 2 twin pipes part by part but I never snowed again after the end of December 😢.

Great info Ben, I watched to the end. What is the targeted RPM for max performance with the clutch kit? I would be interested in seeing more speed trials at your targeted RPM (how many seconds to 55mph)
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry 2 года назад
Thanks for watching nick! I’m 95% sure SLP wants you in the 8200-8300 range with the clutch kit. Currently I’m overreving past that mark and need to add some weight during my next test. I will add more speed trials

Hey like the vids, good content. I have the same kit in my 21 Khaos 850. Correct me if I'm wrong, from my understanding you want the machine to run 8100-8250. Unless you're adding a pipe or something. Goal of the clutch kit should be to fine tune the clutching for rider preference and elevation/snow conditions. I'm fairly new to clutch theory and just trying to learn. I feel it wasn't a night and day difference with the cutch kit in my sled. I'm still not overly impressed with the low end on the 850. Nowhere near what my Skidoo 850 had, or even the 800 mountain cat I still have. Could be the track tension causing the lazy bottom end, sled rips in the mid to high. Like you say in another video, almost unstuckable.
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry Год назад
The 8100-8250 is just a guideline. Only real way to know where you’re peak HP would be is to put the machine on a dyno. We don’t have any dynos where I live. Personally my butt dyno likes my sled to run at 8300. 8100 feels like trash on my sled. Personally if I was you I would put the amount of weight in the clutch that SLP recommends. Then keep adding weight Until it pulls your RPM down. Then take out a little and that should be your sweet spot. I think I’m running a gram more than what SLP says. Pulls like a champ.

I'm an old fart in Wa on SkiDoo equipment. Wondering if a clutch kit might give me some more snap, too. I'm getting my 8k when I go to the bar, so, looking ok on this new to me '16 800 T3.

Lmk if you end up getting a kit and if it works for you.

What elevation are you usually running at? I have the Khaos Matryx Slash 155 and usually ride at 1000 to 2500 feet here in Sweden so I guess I don't lose as much power as you do over there. Been thinking about tinkering with the clutches but then again it's easy just running the stock setup if it doesn't make a real difference.

Does your data logger track mph alongside the rpm? To me that would be the proof are seeing gains from the kit. I'm not doubting you, I can hear it in the from the engine, but I've ran kits before with such a stiff spring that it doesn't shift out and makes rpm but not speed. Would be good to expand on that.
@FeederCountry
@FeederCountry 2 года назад
Yes the data logger tracks RPM. If you watch the video full screen on the computer you can see the MPH on the graph on the left. I also talk about the MPH in the review section after each pull. I was a 0.7 second increase from 0-55mph.

I'm buying a used 21 assault 850. I don't even have the snowmobile yet and I bought a clutch kit and can already. I got them used so I saved a few bucks. Straightline performance is the company. Are you familiar with them?

I just found out about EZ-Lynk. It can data log, read and clear codes. Do valve adjustments and TPS settings for polaris. It will do key codes for skidoo. Can also be used to tune and install tunes with. So that is what I am going to buy.
