If you have ever wanted to know the best way to set up a sluice box to get the most Gold from it then this video is for you . We head to California in search of the Mother Lode of Gold and use both the Keene A52 and the newer Keene A52s which is a unique design for a sluice as it does not require any classifying of material before you dump it in. Saves so much time. For more videos on how to find Gold in any River everytime just watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BgRmO93AMGM.html and smash that like button....SMAS it HARD !!!!!!!
A tip I don’t see often is to wrap your shovel from the metal to the top of the handle in fiberglass heat tape. It increases the tensile strength over 100 times and you will never break your shovel. It gets stronger in the water once it’s set. I’ve seen guys wrap the handles of their crevicing tools to make them stronger also. Awesome advice in this video Jeff! And yeah you got wet!
I used a A52 back in 1980 to find 22 penny weights in one day. South Fork, Yuba river near Downieville California. I still have the gold till this day!
Elementary prospecting. I believe its in college terms. Prospecting 101. Jeff just gave you invaluable lessons they dont give when you buy your first sluice or drywasher. ❤❤
Hi Jeff thanks for sharing ur experience an amazing knowledge always learn something new. All that sharing is finally paying off you deserve at least 1+million followers. Be safe brother 🙏
You are the Man brother, thank you for taking the time out of your daily schedule to help us with your knowledgeable expertise. If I am ever reborn SCHOOL TILL I DIE GETTING THAT SHINY. God bless your soul.
Old school wins!! I have a shop made sluice from early 90s and the screen is built onto it to catch gold. Nice old timer design and still use to this day, and yea we go to the Cut and been waiting for you to come for a visit Jeff!!
Woulda been nice to see a true comparison running the same material through both sluices, but damn!!!... that first pan you showed from California was amazing!
Wonderful video Jeff. when you did this video 4 years ago i contacted Keene eng and purchased one based soley on your video and its an amazing sluice. I have the A52 and the A52S. To this day i purchase keene products and i am still using my A52S. Getting a mini max high banks soon.
Jeffs no rookie. He got his cons from up in them thar hills and brought em back to run. Can't be too careful with ol Slim poking around waiting to jump your claim.
Been distracted by other things getting back to back to shiniey, no not THE SHINING LIGHT OF THE WORLD.he got me. But the shiniey in rocks. Loving the catching up. It's like teaching a man to fish, but on the ground. I didn't say dry land, because your going get wet. be safe have fun ❤ your wife bravery 😮😊 let's go ps don't hear you talk much about (feeling) the rock # over head pressure
I plan to do my first prospecting this spring in novascotia canada were not allowed to use a sluice here but im willing to clasify down and pan it out all day long the biggest alluvial nugget found here was 27 ounces
During the California Gold Rush, "sluices," often called Long Toms, could be tens of feet long. Water was often supplied by ditches owned by companies like the Natomas company. You can still find grizzlies, but compared to modern sluice grizzlies, they are crude, usually sheet iron that someone used a pick point on to make holes in it. The ones I've seen run around two feet by one to two feet.
A Novice enthusiast I am, a number one question I have; without giving away location secrets by you pro's is what's the best way to know if one is in a prospect gold area or not? I spend most of my days thinking I'm where gold is and there's nothing. Or, is that just prospecting.
I've found 'dirty gold', or gold that 'didn't stick out like a sore thumb'. I'd recommend re checking ALL material that's been classified, but doesn't show small nuggets-with a Falcon MD20 gold dust detector. This is what saved me, from throwing away dirty, dark gold nuggets, the size of green peas. :)
Hey Jeff I live in Montana and I’m slowly learning about the geology of my area here in western Montana and just learned about Lake Missoula, and the glacial floods that happened in this area in your videos, you talk about movements of sediment, gold through these high water events and it’s got me thinking about how it would’ve pushed through Northwestern part of the United States here I just like to know your thoughts on this event?
Last weekend i was exploring an old gold mine, which happened to be above a couple streams that just so happened to be running (usually dry). I was really wishing i had a sluice box. They look like they can be made relatively easily 🤔
Been thinking about hooking my mini sluice up to my a52. But im not sure if it will just waste my time or if it's worth it. I know more riffles the better but the water flow will decrease from mini to the a52. Any thoughts would be great
Great lesson, so much fun and so very rewarding, I think I noticed that you got wet, though I might of been mistaken. Thanks again Jeff. May the shiny always be bright and put a smile on your face.
good thing you have video with the audio otherwise if someone was just occasionally listening and they heard small spoons snuffer bottle and cracks they would think you were talking about another kind of "gold" prospecting
Yeeeee Haaaaa. That’s what I am talking about.. Getting Wet to find that Shinny.. Fist 👊 full of AU.. Thank brother.. I think 🤔 I seen young Jeff before LOL 😆.. Say hi to Lila, Slim and Navada Jack.. So come on let’s GO..!! Cheers Famo59 👍⛏️
I didn’t know you rode. What a great entrance to the video. I hope Lila rides too. I’ve got to Arabians myself. Thanks for the quick method on the go or on the spot gold find.. Jeff u need a pair of waders so YOU DON T GET WET😊. Very convenient method. The GODS are mad at you for taking their gold. That’s Slim banging in the background.😂
Jeff, I've heard the term "Mother Lode" a lot. I wonder if it is a real thing or if it is a fantasy idea of the gold miner. If it is a real thing what would the mother lode look like in place? I do not mean what does it look like in the pan.
Awesome ...recently started to follow this chanel....Jeff my goodness you talk like an atomatic machine gun😂😂 i have to be very attentive to catch up😊😊
@@Askjeffwilliams I think I will consult with Neil Degrasse Tyson on the possibility of two Jeff Williams existing in the same place at two different times, my astrophysics is a little rusty 🤣
That’s a dirt eating machine unfortunately I don’t have enough water flow where I prospect for a sluice that big but my sluice eats dirt pretty quickly as well it’s the hobby miner sluice box by Alan Robertson (RU-vid) you’ve probably never heard of him it’s a 3D printed sluice with his own designed silicone reversible mat one side has grizzly bar riffles that you can shovel straight onto no classifying and the then you can flip the mat over to clean up the cons and the silicone grabs the gold extremely well. I had a friend of mine stress test it with one ounce of gold and 20lbs of rocks and black sand. He tried to choke it out but he lost and the sluice captured 99.9 percent of the ounce he put through it. There a lot of add ons for it but it’s a lot more expensive than the keen great tutorial for sluicing your instructional videos are what taught me to find gold the first time I ever tried panning. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
@@Askjeffwilliams I love it it’s small enough to pack wherever you need it and the printed plastic makes it heavy enough I’ve never had to use rocks to weigh it down it’s a 6” sluice and I bought the one with dual power heads for places with clay so it can break down the clay in the top of the box or just pull those off and throw the flair on if there’s running water. then i went to wall mart and bought a kids 4 wheeler rechargeable battery and charger for 80 bucks since the battery is smaller and light weight I run a 3700 gph pump on it with no issues most use a 1500 or 2000 the silicone mats and molds (yes you can make the mats yourself if so inclined) for them come in plenty of different designs for whatever your area requires and they have been field tested out on a mining site that had them out in the elements for a year and they don’t break down or crack Alan is a genius in my opinion for his innovations in silicone mats and other fairly simple prospecting equipment designs.
Jeff: Did you ever figure out what those little yellow spherules (that looked like Vitamin D pills) were that you found down in the mouth of that underground cave system?? I've been intrigued by that since! Thanks!
@@Askjeffwilliams I have had a Hat Problem most likely most of my life, but probably just like you, I wake-up with a hat on! Lol! Did that change after mining hell no! Lol! Got a Prospectors Beard to add to it all! Lol! 💪⚖️🤠
