Slunaz FF1r Automated 3D Printing Filament Joiner. I was one of the backers of this Kickstarter Campaign and recently received the kit in the mail. I bought this primarily to join all of the sections of PET1 filament that I make from recycled water and soda bottles. This machine (to me) is worth its weight in gold)! I haven't yet tried filament materials like PLA or PETG, but the welds it has made using my PET1 filament have been strong and perfect! Super strong!

How is the FF1r performing over time? Does it have any issues joining the severely curved filament at the end of a roll?

Can the unit be printed in PLA or will it require PETG?

Hmm, I printed mine in PETG, but I think it will also be acceptable to use PLA. You might want to reach out to the designer (Stephano Lunazzi) and ask for his recommendation.

Hi, I'm the designer of this machine. You can print in PLA the parts that don't touch the motors or the heated parts, but petg, pet or abs are recommended.
