I was a teenager in the 70s and Sly was always one of my favorites and there were so many great musicians to listen to then. It was an incredible time for music. I was in Buffalo, NY where there were a lot of colleges and concerts every weekend, but I never got to see Sly and the Family Stone. I'm so grateful to be able to see all this old footage on RU-vid. It's just great. Thanks for sharing this video with us!
Everybody wanna shine who will come out on a cloudy day🤔 Word..Sly and the Family called it who will come out when it's time to whether it's their time for an opportunity or to uplift or give solutions for a better community🤔 God bless all the stars who are doing for their communities..woo this cool down is beautiful I wasn't expecting this🙌🏾🙌🏿🙌🏼🙌🙌🏻 The audience probably high as hell like Sly and the family🤣 2:30-2:35..😂 SHINE SHINE SHINE😭 God bless those who grew up back then awww man..Sly⚘️
Living in the Bay area all my life. This band was from Oakland California. I lived in vallejo. My parents used to go see them all the time back in the early seventies. My father was a coke dealer back then and he dealt Coke to one of the band members here LOL ...I'm not going to say who LOL
Rather listen to this all night than anything on the radio. lol. I feel we were all so very very lucky to of grown up with this in our young ears than the likes of what some of the message is today. Sly too, but the whole band was of purity and joy. Songs that made and still make you feel better. I bless the gift!🌹🥳
I seen this band in the early 1970's at the Aragon Ballroom in Uptown Chicago with a bunch of other kids from my Lakeview neighborhood. This was my very first concert experience. It was a great, loud show that was supposed to start around 7 or 8 pm, don't really remember but they didn't start till close to 11 because Sly was late in arriving. We drank a lot of Ripple and Boones Farm Strawberry Hill before arriving and smoked plenty of weed before and during the show. Great memories from great days.
great story. so of the times. i saw the stones in oakland and they must have been three hours late. i got sun stroke...waiting in the heat. thanks mick. finished the show nonetheless
I'm in DC at the African American museum and this comes on, all of a sudden I have returned to my childhood and I get emotional. Been through so much in the last 50 years. Thank you for letting me be myself again!

I LOVE Sly And The Family Stone, BUT Right here was When The Band Was Having Problems/Issues With The Changing of Some of The Members It Just Doesn't Sound The same.. Greg Isn't Playing The drums, Larry Isn't on Bass AND Not Singing His Parts, Just don't Sound The same to Me..
