Bingo. And to introduce her as "a very good cook" and not even use her name was almost unforgiveably insulting. At least he looked embarrassed when the F&B manager introduced her the same way. Fussy Lu was a real jerk in this segment.

Yeah, you may not live if you continue to push someone like Gu Shengnan. Especially if she’s a chef who knows how to wield knives for a living.

But the test of a true relationship is how it PROGRESSES! He DID learn how to relax with Shengnan, he learned how to be a better person, more relaxed and less arrogant man. THAT'S what being with a younger person can do if you let it. He ws able to show her that her cooking was TERRIFIC - despite the idiot chefs she worked with. They did fight, and then they communicated better, learned to solve problems together. It was SHENGNAN who showed Lu Jin how to love so much that he was able to let go and truly defend her when he found out how his younger brother used her. But Shengnan should've kept her promise and STAYED AWAY FROM Lu Zheng as Lu Jin had asked and SHE HAD PROMISED! Yes, they learned from each other - which is one of the best things about a good relationship. This is just my opinion. Thanks for reading.

I wasn't too thrilled with the way Lu Jin treated her in these scenes. He knew how terrific a chef Gu Shengnan is and he let the arrogant Li Man talk to her as if, because she didn't study in PARIS her cooking is "sub-par" and not worthy! Lu Jin should've stopped Li Man right then and defended his girlfriend. But I LOVE how he said "You'll know where I'm supposed to be" and then moves into the apartment right next to Shengnan's! Love a feel-good drama like this! Thanks for reading.

I agree! He had said she could not be replaced ( as his assistant ), and his mother led her to believe she had a chance, telling her she was her choice. They were both twice wrong: you cannot have an adult decision maker led like a dog, and if you love someone you have to let go.

The older lady was never his wife or girlfriend she was his assistant, she had a delusion about being his wife and that was due to the fault of his mother who kept encouraging her with no basics. In this scene she's just venting out the fact that he likes the younger lady more than her and he enjoys the younger lady's cooking more than he enjoys her cooking.
