Having the randomiser actually in the ROM is an interesting choice. Most randomisers I'm familiar with do it externally with a PC program that spits out either a mod or a new ROM file with the changes.
Finaly, every copy of super mario 64 is personalized is now real, altough there was another randomizer mod but this one has alot more than the previous one
I want to know if the implementation of this is vanilla specific, or if it can be extended to other romhacks (ideally a patch that could be applied to any romhack though that would be unstable in a lot of cases)

@@BrapStephens Adding other parameters could be interesting to give more challange to the runs, yeah. But the Chaos edition I would see it more like a Personal choice of play rather than a Multiplayer experience, as it would lead very quickly to frustration in a team... so, for a viewing experience, it would be also very entretaining! Texture Randomizer would be an interesting step too for the Options on the Rando
@@antoniocisneros8753 yeah, super Mario 64 plus hard mode has mild hue changes on every texture in the game as well as mirrored levels, so it REALLY adds to the replayability imo. Your comment got me thinking of chaos 64 mp, but one player controls the 'weather' and the other is trying to win. Maybe where the one with effects have cool downs?
There used to be a problem with the randomizer where it would crash on n64 if you exited the level during a star spawn cutscene. Has this been patched?
@@jess648 Archipelago is a kind of extended multiplayer randomizer. Basically, each person is on a different game and the twist is that players can send and receive items across games. For example, a player can send a Master Sword to another player in A Link to The Past by just picking up a specific star in Super Mario 64. This is still an ongoing project, where games are still being developed for compatibility by adding additions to existing games and it remains that there are games of all kinds that are compatible. And I hope this mod is compatible since the randomizer of Super Mario 64 in Archipelago is not that advanced.
It's a tiny thing that doesn't even make much of a difference, but I wonder if there's a way to make the M on Mario's cap change color with his hat and shirt too? I'd imagine it wouldn't be too difficult, but I'm also not a programmer, and definitely not as familiar with the hardware as you.
Every time you post a video I think it's gonna be the release of your fully optomized unbelievable vanilla SM64 release, I can't wait to replay my childhood game with real speed and fluidity, I hope it comes soon before my P wings expire!
don't expect it for another 1 or 2 years. I want to finish my mod running on the engine first and add local splitscreen multiplayer and a lot of missing content to it. after that i can start extracting it into a seperate rom. itll be a long journey.
I wish Mario's shoes and gloves didn't randomize. And Marios skin should randomize from light to dark, and Marios hair would randomly be white, grey, brown, or black. Bonus points for having a random letter on his hat. But that's me.
It not work on phone i play hacks on phone can u send me a like for a phone version of it would be thankful i mean mario last impact also works on my phone perfectly
I can't belive it. Kaze just won't stop messing around with this game... Dude, this game have us tired and bored to oblivion, can you pick another, like ocarina of time and delight us with your mastery?
Alright, Kaze. I liked and subscribed. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?! Looks great! Thanks to all contributors for making something like this possible! Love you all!
I'm not a fan of how the stars are just placed out in the middle of the field for you to collect for free. An entire mission worth of a star just handed to you. There's a lack of obstacles, besides stars/coins that end up in ridiculous areas which is artificial of a challenge to me.
Hey kaze, I wanted to know how did you get started with programming? I want to get into it right now and I’m using godot. But is there anything you suggest to learn how to code or how to learn the concepts of programming faster and easier?
If i would get 1 dollar for each Hack your working on, i would be Rich right now. Where do you get this time to work on so many different things at the same time?
