Her precisely controlled goofiness breaks all the rules. It's not often you see dancing that is beautifully executed, enormously entertaining and just so damned clever.
Dance is supposed to be entertainment and a lot of ppl dont find it entertaining anymore. Shes made it to where its something ppl of this generation want to see again and i love it
"People of this generation want to see again" bwahahahhaa. You never lived in the age to experience this. So what's with the "again" crap. Lol have you be reincarnated? If so, why in the world would you come back as a human?
As a jazz dancer myself. I love that she makes dance unpredictable. No tilts, endless turns but this girl has them down packed. Old school, funky, and classic. My type of jazz. It doesn’t just show skill, but character and soul. I love it. She didn’t overdo it with the comedy.
She gon save the show from crashing. Bringing the old sytycd vibes. Where it was about originality, art, character, and passion. Not just looking pretty and skills.
Thank you. Omg I'm so sick of seeing the same damn thing. Technique what happen to feeling and passion. Having good technique is just one part of dancing. I've seen people with little technique but was able to make me cry, laugh or just simple stare. Just going by technique is boring.
I don’t know the name of the younger male judge, but his reaction to this is exactly the same as mine! This performance makes me happy every time I watch it. Great job, SMAC!
that sneeze, did not expect that in dancing, that walk at 1:53 is really imitating Lucille Ball, she's so ORIGINAL pause at exactly 2:05 that face! she's a winner
@@smac Just dawned on me too that your original routine would be the perfect audition for America's Got Talent. Your personality is as large as your dancing is and America would go insane over it!
So free and uninhibited, such a joy to watch. Not trying too hard, just being yourself and having fun with it. Dancing like no one is watching. That is a pinnacle that is very hard to reach. Only the best of the best ever get there. Well done.
I was sitting in my office feeling the fangs of an anxiety attack. Something told me to come back here to watch your performance. A few repeats later, my heart no longer hurts and I have a smile up on my face. Thank you!
i’ve been dancing for so long and where it’s all about bias and technique and what kind of tricks you can do and your legs that going back to this old school, funky, entertainment jazz makes me so happy and i love it. 1000/10 so good and center stage vibes lol
I just saw this. And in alllllll 16 seasons of SYTYCD I've NEVER seen someone have as much character and fun as you! That was so damn entertaining I couldn't take my eyes off you!
I can’t seem to stop watching this! It just makes me feel joyful! SMAC, this is the impact a true artist can have on people! As a kid of the 70s and theatre arts teenager, this one got me!! You are brilliant and I look forward to seeing more stellar performances!
She is the Winner in my Book. she is a STAR and she stole the show :) The entire show. Everyone else can go home:) sorry guys - this gal is outstanding:) I love love loved this:)
Between this channel and the SYTYCD channel, I've watched this video probably 25 times, and I've forwarded it to all my friends and family. Smac reminds me of Mark Kanemura. They have amazing technique, musicality and talent; but what gives them that special X-factor is their quirkiness, sense of humor and out-of-the-box approach to dancing.
I don't encounter them nearly as much as I'd like to, but performances like this make me happy to be alive! I'd like to thank all of your ancestors for making it possible for you to be right here, right now...you're truly a gem!
SMAC was sooooooo great to watch! She is so talented and I know I've watched this video a few times. The music is great, the dancing is fantastic and lovely to watch!!!!!
You're BRILLIANT! You were the dancer I was watching for. I don't know what comes next for you, but I know people will DEFINITELY want to watch you perform. Whatever "it" is, you've got it, kiddo.
How does this not have more views! Anyways you did amazing Sarah definitely subscribed as soon as I watched the SYTYCD video and found your channel! I'm so excited to watch you this season!!! Good luck 💗
People are just finding out about SMac i bet her youtube channel got a huge increase of followers after the episode of SYTYCD. Never seen anything like it. Also on SYTYCD channel is has tons more views! :)
Sarah, I am in awe of your talent, your sense of humor, your look, personality ... everything! I’ve watched your Boogie Woogie routine over and over because it is so much fun and so brilliant. You deserved all the superlative feedback from the judges! When Nigel said, “You’re a Star”, I thought “Absolutely ... and the winner of SYTYCD season 16!”
okay 1. I can't stop watching this 2. that smile/laugh at 2:21 I love so much because it looks like you just genuinely love what you do and I love when dancers look happy when dancing
Love your style, expression and complete authenticity in being yourself. The world is a better place for it. Wishing you great success in the weeks to come.
Absolutely brilliant. Lucille Ball of dance....I love that comment because she was the creative force behind that craft and Smac is top of the line with dance!!
I've watched this so many times. I wish she had gone further in the competition. She is Truly talented. I believe she could have contributed So much to the show., As you are given choreo but you still must give your personal interpretation of said choreo. Every dancer has their own flavor they add to the moves given. I guess they just weren't ready. SMH
So good!! Already my family's favorite. They will call her the beast of this season. If she makes it to top 20 theres a great chance she wins the whole thing.
I cannot wait until they turn your comedic side upside down, and we get to see you do a serious dramatic dance. Because anyone who can do comedy with that many layers is going to completely destroy when they do a heart-wrenching moment.
@@smac Too true. When I'm teaching improv, I explain to students that when you hear the audience say "awwwwe", its worth a hundred laughs. Its the hardest thing for comedians to learn.... that you have to let people in before the audience will truly feel for you. And once they feel for you? Then you're an entertainer, and you can do anything. Kill it, Smac. Make those poor bastards feel everything you've ever felt. Make them say "awwwwe"
John Abbott So True. It's like the best Adam Sandler movies are his later ones that could be funny and still give that heartfelt moment like Click when he's crying about his father dying and how much of his life he missed or 50 first dates when they're being so sweet together. They are much better movies than some of his very early ones that were more hit you over the head with slapstick, because they layer in the emotions and they have room for subtle comedy too, like again click when he wakes his parents up to tell his dad how much he loves them and then when he leaves his dad turns to his mom and is like when we're up (hinting he wants to fool around) and she's like if you massage me first and he's like, never mind back to bed. It's relating back to an earlier joke that men want to skip that part and it's funny at how quickly he changes his mind, plus it's the right size joke for the touching moment that just happened. Plus comedic timing takes more acting chops than just about anything. It's like some of the best silly ditzy characters are some of the smartest women like Jennifer Tilly or going back to Marilyn Monroe. Actual bad acting is just awful, but an actress playing a terrible actress or a naive girl who doesn't understand what's going on around her takes brains to pull it off.
John Abbott Absolutely! Kelly Bundy was a fabulous character and only got better (and dumber) throughout the show's run. And Christina Applegate was in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead! Which is one of my favorites. She and Keith Coogan play their characters so well. Speaking of, I think Keith Coogan is such an underrated actor, I can't think of too many of his movies, but that one, and Toy Soldiers are 2 of the best and such completely different genres.
this video (but from SYTYCD's channel) came up on my recommended and I DIED laughing!! It just was an genius, amazing and most creative performance ever. I LOVE IT!!! Keep up the good work you're an incredible performer and artist
so good 🎵absolute genius, what a superstar i was expecting the creativity, the humour and musicality, cos Smac is fkn funny, it's given next level However, i was blown away by your skill level tbh... Such great physical control, powerful body and soul
Sarah, you made this all so fun and entertaining. I will be very interested in seeing the height you take yourself, your career, and your passion for stage in all the forms of art you bring to it.
HOW IS THIS THE FIRST TIME I’M SEEING THIS!! I found you on TicTok & at first I was just looking through your profile & I thought they were really, really good. & now here I am almost an hour and a half later, watching all your RU-vid videos. You’re absolutely brilliant. 💛💛💛💛💛💛
Sheila, that was so Ridgy - Didge. I'm from down under so will be rooting for you all the way. Just subscribed so I don't miss a thing. Not one but four gold tickets, well done girl.
