Amazing tips! Been flying for years and am struggling to advance skills after coming off of 6g. This is a perfect start for real collective management thank you!
Thanks Bobby, you make flying a helicopter easy. I also learned how to fly with hell's. I have always had problems with the inward turns especially when coming from the right. It's not so bad when flying fixed wing but I usually lose coordination on both sides with my heli. I can easily perform forward flight and stall turns including the 540. I've even done loops with no problem but haven't attempted any rolls yet. The tail in bail out is a good idea and I'll try it next time I fly my heli. I've been flying airplanes and heli's going on 30 years now (including EDF's) and I still consider myself as a novice. I've had the same heli (Hirobo Shuttle ZXX) for 20+ years and I've been so conservative that it's only been crashed 3 times, twice from pilot error and once from being "shot down" when a fellow flyer turned on his transmitter (72mhz) on same frequency as mine. Again, thanks for your videos, they are truly helpful. Maybe I'll even start trying to auto, hehe.
Excellent video and explanation. Quick question. I have M2 and Tx16S, I am a thumber. I can control all 4 orientations upright and do somewhat figure 8. I see you barely move the sticks when you do the forward flight and figure 8 and it looks beautiful! Do you have any Expos setup on the Tx? Is it more difficult to fly the small M2 compared to the Trex500? Thanks a lot!
Hi! I am not familiarized with Bobby's setup, but indeed we all run expo, anywhere between 20 and 40% depending on personal preference. You should start always with at least 20% expo and see how you like it, you can increase or decrease from there. As for your second question, indeed the 500 size helicopter will be much easier to fly as it is inherently a lot more stable than an M2 or Goo-Sky S2, those are tiny helicopters that are always more susceptible to wind and many other factors.
