I make baby/kids boutique style clothing. I get this comment sooo much. "I can buy it cheaper from amazon, temu, etc." I literally set in my dining room while taking care of my 1 year old little girl handmaking each piece. I customize for each customer. I hand stamp my tags, cut every tiny strap or hand punch the snaps. I put so much time into the pieces. Theres no better quality clothing than handmade. So sometimes it urks me when people say things like this
i think youre just going to have to get over it, because if its true then what are you going to do you know? either sell it cheaper or move on with it 🤷♀️
It's part of the ambiance!! Nice packaging is enjoyable to open!! I'm sure she gets beads in bulk for the low so she has large margins!! Pretty packaging is what separates her from just Amazon
You could probably save money by using envelopes instead of boxes. You can stamp them with a cute stamp if you want. But youd for sure save a buck or two and be just as cute. That box has a lot of wasted space.
We live in an age where creators are pressured to match big corpo styles in looks so something is sellable I miss the old easy whit bag days. Much cheaper. I feel like sge shouldn't have to feel the need for this but packaging sells sometimes
As a small business owner myself I definitely agree with you. It's the personal touch that makes our items all the more special. Much success to us and others like ourselves 🙏🏾
i understand why it’s not for everyone cause homemade pieces are verryyyyy expensive today. not everyone has $50 to drop on an item they can find for $10. i know it’s all about supporting small businesses but half the time our wages physically won’t let us
@@violetcovers5699Ofc, that’s a good thing. If it’s a good price, good quality. But some other small businesses may hv quite expensive products that are low quality, and buying from big retail stores are just more convenient and resourceful.
@@hollytruyou can reuse the box for storage and stuff, it's really only a waste if you yourself don't make use of it. That's just the way I see it anyways 🤷🏾♂️
@@lildicky1058 true, but it also drives the shipping cost up drastically so it's not the smartest & most eco friendly postal packaging. In store makes sense but this is an online business
No, it’s not more expensive than the product, because the price of the pack is included in the product price, and those packs cost a dollar or less. Ignorance is bliss.😢
@uzoridiseyechizom3595 the boxes dpnt cost less then a dollar. I used to own a business for me I could get them for 2.50 each or 10 for 5$. Plus hers has a picture on it probably custom
Yall gotta understand when someone hand makes an item ,they put their energy into whuch makes it more meaningful and beautiful. Its like they give you apart of them and you should find it more precious to you . Like we dont have same appreciation for things when they are mass produced and everyone has it . Think about it.
Same with buying clothes. And buying food. Value is the meaning of life for me. I know not everyone has the money to blow on certain items, but people shouldn't blame others on where they do place values (basically where people spend their money.)
Will you like to get a toon Portrait of ur pic which can be printed to any size on canvas, logo, illustrations, flyers, business cards, website design etc
I know you don’t mean anything else. But wanted to say ‘We should all be patient and kind to one another’. Regardless of how big/small businesses are or whether or not you are the owners or customers.
If you're using a box of that size I recommend using more of the paper sprinkles to cushion the bracelets so the beads don't break. The box will get tossed around during the shipping process.
Help pay someone’s mortgage, kids school cloths, and the family car. Not a multibillion dollar conglomerate that would literally wipe their ass with your $5. I love supporting small business and I support this message!
Well as someone who grew up poor and still is, we just don’t have the budget for a 45 dollar product, if we can get it cheaper at a multibillion company for 5 dollars.
@@kyanadresen6756 Obviously if it doesn’t apply, let it fly! But be mindful of how many times in a 5 year period you probably buy that crap item. Whereas you could have bought 1, that lasted. Poverty is also associated with spending habits, financial literacy. Chances are if you were born into poverty and now an adult, that hasn’t gotten out of poverty, my friend you need to adjust your focus and not take those generational curses with you.. it has nothing to do with what business you support when all your moneys going to the right resources. Gotta break that cycle, start sacrificing for a few years to save save save and get yourself out that situation. If you carry things with you the same way your parents did, you’ll be in that same situation when it’s time for you to have kids. Use the financial aid system to get educated, or get a trade, stay with a company for 5+ years and work your way up, something but once you start earning money you need to be mindful of how the others before you stayed in poverty..and if staying in poverty is what you want. Saying things like “well I’m broke so I have to shop at Walmart”. No, you don’t at all. I actually get most of my stuff that’s better quality, in Macys on the 75% off rack and those items last way longer than items the Chinese made for Walmart. Again, it’s a mindset thing you need to change.
@@ThePomskysPalace it has nothing to do with my mindset im a first class cheapskate because of this, my couldn’t finish her education because she got pregnant with me by a horrible dude, my stepfather lost his business and got ALS a few years back, im 17 the only one who makes money in this house because my mom has to take care of my dad full time and my dad well (idk how to explain it best we speak dutch at home) my dads muscles have been dying off he cant even speak anymore, i just don’t like the way people try to guilt trip with “its only 5 dollars ur not only helping a small business but also me” i want to give my little sister something small with all this shit going on too its mostly clearance junk i’ll admit but half of these small businesses buy the same supplies that was made in the same factory and sell it for triple the price
I love buying from small businesses. Not only to help them grow but the appreciation and the little touches they add to show you that appreciation is so nice. Keep up the good work friend❤
If you can support a small or local business, please do so. I think these things are cute as hell and I just feel something warm in my heart whenever I buy from these little businesses. It somehow feels personal, even if it wasn't.
Yep! So where I live we have this festival each year, I don’t feel comfortable saying the name since it will literally give away the street I live on 😅 But a bunch of local businesses set up tents and sell jewelry, ice cream, taco trucks, etc. I just think it’s super nice cause you get a chance to buy from a lot of small businesses and local food places
I would love to see a monthly haul showing your plans, fabrics, and patterns for the month from the items that you already have. I also think it would be great if you just kept a brief diary of what you done when you go in your sewing machine each time. Just a little sewing diary for when you start and finish and the steps you’ve taken in between. That might give you a picture too.
But the thing is small businesses put love in to their work because my daughter she has a small business and she put so much energy into it and love and Amazon just puts it in a box and ship it
this is the reason i love small businesses! i did pretty much every item for christmas through etsy this past year. not only was so much of it customizable, but i love being able to talk to the person that’s actually going to create the item and i can often feel the love they put into their craft. makes it much more special and meaningful ❤❤
As a small bisnis owner doing the same thing, a lot of people tell me “YoU cAn bUy iT fRoM aMiZon” my response is “yOu CaN mAkE CoFfE aT hOmE sToP bUyInG fRoM sTaRbUcKs” like bru it’s the same thing
@@iceypoppyy still wasteful and bad for the environment. Each empty cubic inch of the package is a waste on fuel. You do know that shipping a 100 of these boxes will take up a TON of shipping space that could be used to transport something else thus wasting truck/plane/vessel fuel for nothing. Dont do this as a small business, show you actually care about the environment.
Girl you do you. You don't need to explain yourself to someone that doesn't get it. If they did, they wouldn't have said what they said. Your business is beautiful x lots of love from a Kiwi living in Western Australia.
The problem is their ignorance, not your product. Your products are precious and someone who doesn't understand small businesses.. I need to know who their parents are. Someone failed them.
Well it’s because those beads are sold on Amazon as full sets to make your own and you get to make more than 3 bracelets but if someone rather spend more money to get someone to make it , package then shop then that’s on them .
Right, what makes it unique enough that someone else would want to buy it. You also gotta think about what the customer wants, and not what the creater would want with their packages. Putting your heart into it does not mean just including a few pieces of candy
@@danieltongawwthe comment wasn't really disrespectful, but it is a matter of personal opinion. There's nothing wrong with what she's doing because ppl are still willing to buy it obviously, but that doesn't mean the quality will differ than want is already offered in kits on Amazon
@@chubbybutterflies8971 duhh you didn’t know putting period at the end of a sentence Makes the person writing the sentence automatically right !! It’s in the Bible !
Controversial opinion: Do we really need that much garbage? I'm not talking about the product itself but those confetti and whatnot. I do understand that it makes customers/clients feel a bit more appreciated/valued but I think we should all start changing our mindset as consumers and as entrepreneurs. That's all. Have a wonderful day!
I agree. Honestly, packaging isn’t THAT important to me, as long as the product is what I expected. It could come in a padded envelope with nothing else and I’d be content.
Answer- NO, WE DONT. A recycled colorless mailer envelope with recycled shedded paper is enough. Jazz it up with pretty writing or ink stamps. These small businesses really do use a lot of unnecessary trash. What’s with the cards? Every card I get goes in trash because I already know where I bought the product.
@@seadragon1456 I guess it’s for presentation to help them stand out or in case someone compliments you, you’re able to pass along the business card. I think in todays world it’s not as important since we’re able to just text/screenshot the brand name on our phones.
Agree. I was thinking this. Maybe not use a box and opt for something else instead for packaging...there really wasn't all that much being put in there anyway.
The confetti is paper based, not plastic, so it isn't bad for the environment, and also we have three farms specifically for making paper, I get what you're saying but we should focus on bigger issues like the abhorrent amount of plastic big corporations use, many of which aren't recyclable types, someone packaging their product with a handful of paper confetti isn't the worst thing
Don't listen to those stupid haters trying to pit you down. I would rather buy some of your bracelets than some heartless Amazon bracelets, you put time and effort into your products. ❤ don't let other people do that to you and your business. 😊😊😊😊
Sending big love and positive vibes and just wanted to come In and show support babes ❤❤❤ Keep on going girly you got this proud of you and happy for you!! Xoxo
As a small business owner too I would just like to say that you can buy similar things by big companies but you can’t buy that love and care you put into your products. I hope you get big someday ❤
What a gorgeous gemstone you're wearing and pairing it with that fabulous fabric of the suit jacket. I would bet that suit jacket is super comfortable considering the fabric it is made of. So stylish!
You should put the candy in a little cute package. You never know what temp your packages will end up having to sit in and Starburst melt easily, trust me I love em lol.
@@lulasnannajodie7723 it's really inadvisable to insert FOOD items in non food related shipments. I mean she's lucky she only ships domestically but it's still a terrible idea. Hopefully she stopped doing it.
What many people don't realize is that when we make our items by hand it's a lot of dedicated work that is involved. Sure you can buy things cheaper, but it costs money to make our items to sell and it's so disrespectful to try to cheap down our hard work. I feel just as passionate about making my totes/bags like high end companies do. And mine are just as beautiful. I love this, and those candies go so far. I made/sold my own body cream and dropped a few pieces of dark chocolate in the bag, and I received so much feedback putting that little snack in there 😊

I’m new here this is the first ever short I have watched by you and I liked and subscribed and I might also support you by buying a couple of bracelets and will proudly wear them
People that don’t make things by hand have no idea the time, energy and cost that goes into making something. They just want something for free. They are not your target customers. Ignore them.
Support small business! When buying plur/rave/sport business you are buying the love and energy but into. That’s why home cooked meals are always best ❤️
You can just consider it charity then. Consider it you giving $5 to help a young kid get somewhere in this tough ass world that seems to want to beat down anyone wanting to work hard. She’s TRYING. The world is against her and she’s still trying. The entire system is rigged to ensure that this girl never gets where she wants to go and here she is. Somehow, you came across her video and you have a chance to put $5 towards something you know is gonna matter. $5 to Amazon is NOTHING. $5 to this girl - is a sale. It’s a sign. That God is with her and her efforts are being rewarded. The same way a kid at his lemonade stand sells a cup of lemonade - you can make it cheaper by the gallon than it would cost you for a cup. But the impact buying that cup - or these bracelets is more than just the money. Can you just consider it a good deed to pay forward?
You know that these 5$ involve more than just the bracelets? Would you buy a kit made by a smaller buisniss, it would also cost way more because you are buying from massproduction. Which is of course not always bad and helps poor people, but it also contributes to the fact that more and more cheap junk is produced because people want everything cheaper and cheaper. Which in turn provides for outsurcing to places where people are treated and paid inhumane and probably even provide childrenwork . When you want to support it, go for it.
@@honeybadger2986 what is that kid doing for us though? 🤣 you acting like everyone gives a fuck about a random kid they don't know cause like u said this is a "tough ass world" not everyone worries for a kid and would rather buy things cheaper
@@0nly.k1m34 then do it! Who’s making you buy them? Go support a huge corporation and make the bracelets yourself. Let other people support small businesses. Bye!
Honestly until you start and run your own small business , people don’t realise how much more effort , time , love and money it actually requires. Especially when you don’t have a team of staff and it’s just you .
So adorable. I’d much rather buy from small business any day. I too make handmade crochet items. Please support small business everyone. Amazon is ready check enough.
Small businesses are so underrated, we put our life and soul into every little thing we do. We give small treats and kind notes, but big businesses just throw the thing you buy into a bag, no freebies or notes and ship it. (Not all of big businesses do this!!) and yet we still get little money, and not a lot of sales, some small businesses even get none..
