I always enjoy these walkthroughs. The only thing I feel is missing is a price rundown at the end. Doesn't have to be elaborate but a total cost would be so helpful to churches who are considering upgrades and need a ballpark price for discussion purposes. Many see this equipment and think "that's so out of reach for us". Maybe it is...or maybe they'd be surprised. A basic "the lighting package was about $____ and the audio upgrades totaled around $____ with the sequencing system adding $_____ to the cost" or whatever. And "reach out to us" isn't a helpful answer as many feel that is more commitment than they are ready for to do that. [I'm not saying you all have or would just say "reach out" but just in general.]
I was just thinking exactly this. I am a worship pastor in Minnesota, and have been considering applying to have Churchfront help us with a renovation, but I can't find any info on the cost for this kind of stuff, which makes it hard to make a proposal to the powers that be, haha.
Hey Liam, if you reach out we can provide some ballpark numbers on what it would take to get your project done. Once you engage in our design process then we hone in on a precise proposal. So I would still get on a call with Erik on our team and he will walk you through the process and I (Jake) can get you some ball park numbers if you send us some photos of your space.
In my opinion (and we all know how fun opinions can be) this is the value of a consultant. It's much less commitment to pay someone a small amount to help you define your long-term technical goals and who can walk with you through the process of defining your needs and desires so that you can understand how much you can expect those goals to cost. Often, you end up using that process to either find additional money to commit to those goals or you have solid information to adjust your goals to match your budget.
I immediately noticed the railing around the booth has a sloped top. Where I used to work had a flat top and it was a dumping ground. Especially bad when drinks are perched there right above the mixer. Smart design.
I like the tech updates. Coming from an IT guy you should get managed switches and not run network cables directly into the switch. Add a patch panel and then short patch cables to switch. Unifi is a nice option for switches that won't break the bank and even have added Dante priority options in the latest update.
@churchfront Thank you for all you great content. It continues to be an inspiration. Can you point to any resource (videos or other channels) that have similar tech tours but for much smaller churches with 50 or so members? Thanks again and God bless your ministries.
Good video. Thank you very much for this informative insight. How did you manage to have the Mac Minis boot automatically? So far, I haven't been able to find a reliable solution to this issue.
For those KVMs, do you need to run them over a dedicated network cable or can you send them through a switch at all? I'd love to incorporate something like that into our current system but we don't really have the ability to run new cables due to poor design of conduit and what not. But we have a pretty extensive wired network that I could utilize.
Can you guys tell us where you got the rack mounted LED lights that sit in the top of your rack for seeing the front of the gear?!?!?! Best one I’ve seen without having to run strip lights.
Hi Jake, I see you're installing alot of SQ5s in these makeovers. Seeing as you personally prefer the Wing, are the SQ5s preferred by your clients? Our church in Zambia, Southern Africa is in the process of upgrading from QU-32 and I suggested the Wing after you recommended it. Any change of mind and preference for the SQ over the Wing?
@@Churchfront Would you make a video speaking on the reasons? If you have made one, what's the title of it? Here in Africa we only have one shot at this - can't easily return a console back for refund or exchange, so we wish to get it right the first time. Thanks.
Really nice setup for a smaller church! For your live stream audio, are you just running a post-fader FOH mix, or are you doing a separate mix for that?
Love a clean setup. A few questions... There's 3 computers at FOH booth but only 2 KVMs? Why? How did you conceal your cable runs between the racks? I'm assuming it was mostly ethernet runs between racks? Any other type of cabling?
The third screen at front of house is the multiview for the video switcher. Not a computer. We have data video and audio cable, running around various raceways through floors and ceilings
"The vibe"????? don't tell me you believe in that word?... bro learn the use of that don't repeat the word just because teens just repeating without knowing... i'm not a hater i'm a Christian but we should be carefull the words we use... i maybe older (38yrs) for this word but i understand the origin of that word and its not a Christian word to use it... but hey feel free to. blessings.
