This build is PROOF that money is not everything. I'm a huge Tommy supporter, but its clear to me you're going to destroy him in this challenge. Hard work and dedication > ordering shit online and slapping it on.
God your videos are better then Tommy's, your nice and don't come off as a dick. Your build will definitely win, it's different and not many people have done this! Got my vote
tbh i love seeing you do all the small things because it gives me ideas on what and how to do things to my Z. That grommet trick for the rear wiper delete by with pulling the one from under the tools was awesome lol. planning on painting my wiper trays and calipers soon, cant thank you enough for all these videos they've really been helping me considering this is my first Z so i don't have very much know how :) keep up the good work jimmy!
Love the content as usual. Couple questions. I rmember that lift you have was being borrowed, do you need one for yourself? About to come into some money soon and would like to contribute. Second, do the other guys have a chanel? I kinda miss seeing them in your videos.
Loving this build series, gives us broke boys a guide and know how to go out and do these things our selves, especially since you're so detailed on everything in your path to a finished product. Cheers lad, from the UK.
Jimmy’s build is going to pull ahead with all the content he’s covering on it. Tommy is busy with a bunch of stuff and not much is being seen physically done to the Silvia
Hey Jimmy! Few things I've got to say. First of the list: Your content is great, I love to watch you working on cars and fooling around with the rest of the team(Still waiting for some more DrewTube) so keep it up! Second thing: About the calipers for the Z, I'm almost sure that if you sand the logo down and spray it with the clear coat it should prevent rust from getting on it(or you could always paint the logo white with the nail polish brush(you know what i mean ;) ) And the third thing is that I think some update on the budget build for Chip in the mean time would be nice). Sorry for a comment so long but I'm just saying keep doing what you are doing cause it's fun and entertaining to watch :) Cheers!
Please. No background music. So annoying an I prefer the no music style. Maybe just the intro would be cool but when you start talking it's just terrible.
Yo Jimmy, here's an idea you can use for the Nissan name on your brake calipers. I did the exact same thing with my Computer case. Drop some candle wax on the brake caliper, Make sure you have enough on there to cover that whole side. then start to scrap away until you reach the letters. Make sure the rest of the calipers are sealed off. And hit it with some paint(Silver should look clean af) After x amount of paint layers you feel needed. Just heat up the wax and it should come off without much of a hassle. I really Hope this helps, Rooting for you man! Sincerely You're Far Away fan From South Africa Andrico de Wet
I think cam from haggard has your brake line bender I remember him borrowing it for his 240 in a video a while back, don't ask me how I remember that brotha lmfaoo...but yea idk if he brought it back but I defiantly remember him borrowing if from you in a video @Jimmy oakes
Keep up the good work Jimmy, love the videos. I finally ran out of pineapple air fresheners 😂 do you still sell them? Can't seem to find them on your shop page.
steady working on the z always good. if theres not much going on in the shop you could do a get to know jimmy video. maybe a what we do here in the snow video..
I like seeing you add to the garage. Maybe a hydro lift, shelving, more lighting, floors, tools, workbenches. It’d be cool to see the ultimate garage build overtime. Just things to keep you busy waiting for parts. Just a thought. Love the content man.
Killing it with the music in these videos my dude. Words need not be said for anything regarding these fucking gorgeous cars. We all know how that goes ;). Keep it up Jimmy! Good shit.
I've thought about this, but never tried it. Peel-off paint the face of the caliper. Sand the new paint off the letters and then paint the face your desired letter color. Peel the rubberized paint off leaving only the letters painted. Should work like a liquid masking, right?
whats up, what if you sand and polish the NISSAN and to prevent it from rusting spray Clear Coat. Protects the red paint and lasts longer.. Keep up the Videos great work
granted I have aluminum calipers, I still sanded the nissan logo, and painted clear on with a small brush P.S. the chill vibes in the background make any vlog for me 100000x times better to watch, don't know why but just makes the videos waaaay better, peace!
As a small, little project, can you wrap a hood with Christmas wrapping paper? A buddy of mine really wants to do it to his "rice-arolla". He's not one to try something without watching a tutorial (even though it's super simple) and no other RU-vidrs do it well (aka no one is as good as you). Maybe then he'd finally join the pineapple gang!
I'm thinking about picking up a 300zx and it runs great, the interior is great but dirty, and the clear coat is pilling in some spots but it's 1000 bucks. Is that a good deal? Any advice from jimmy or anyone who actually knows what there talking about would be nice thanks
I’m a big fan of the black Z especially with the SR swap. Started following Jimmy lil after this build so went scrolled back to all these vids. I didn’t know it was a build off stoked to see the outcome of the builds. Crazy reading these comments years later people still saying the same thing “this channel should be bigger” Jimmy deff puts in the work.
It's crazy how dedicated you are to this build. You pulled the engine less than two weeks ago and you're ready to put a new engine in next week. I've been doing a 20vt conversion on my Mk2 Golf over the last 5 months and I haven't got my engine in yet. I haven't even painted the engine bay yet.. How do you do it man.
I may have something you may like unfortunately I got rid of my 300ZX because I didn’t have money for 2 project cars right now but I have the lock and ignition key set for the fairlady you can have as back up
I really enjoy watching you make stuff. You should just make some random interesting stuff. Orion recently did a long video of making a hydroponic setup, that sort of thing might break up the build content.
2 things, talk with dressupbolts.com and get a nice titanium bolt kit for the Z. They work really well with people. Second thing is start cleaning up the sr20, get the block painted as well as the intake manifold. Should provide some good content while you wait.
Repaint your bmx and do some tutorials for some content, also q&a’s, make a vid with drewtube and the other project car, i guess they’re pretty good video ideas!
If you hit the rough plumbing dept they have rubber sheets of packing too they call it. Like 8x8 sheets. 2 thickness’s if you even wanna check it out as well.
If you want the NISSAN to show up nicely, you can sand the paint off, take it to bare metal, then clear coat it a few times. Would help with brake dust not sticking to it as well! -
I love watching all this little stuff. Make sure you film it all:) don’t think that it’s boring too us, because I’m sure anyone that’s an enthusiast enjoys watching it
I ENJOY THE SMALL MODIFICATIONS. LETS GET AN UPDATE ON JIPS CAR. LETS SEE EDDIES CAR. MAYBE TAKE A BREAK FROM CAR MAINTENANCE AND DO A FUN VLOG; GO KARTING OR MOBBIN THE GROMS OR DRIFT SIM OR CAR MEET OR SOMETHING INDOORS.
Hey guys. Be very careful when using an angle grinder. A relative of someone I know was using one and the wheel shattered at high RPM and flew right through their chest and hit them in the heart and killed them. Scary.
I love how “you” are actually “building” your car in the buildoff lol, tommy is really good at paying people to help build him a sweet ride, I wanna see the budget of both after all is said and done.
Yo Jimmy contents fire man! Maybe pick up some black enamel model paint and a fine brush from a model shop to paint the Nissan logo black on the calipers?
