The title says it all -- "Small" campers DON'T HAVE TO BE "Cheap" Camper!! Winnebago is an amazing example of this "against the grain" mentality.
This Micro Minnie Travel Trailer layout is almost exactly like so many single axle bunkhouse models you see there in terms of its layout. But the premium grade material selection, upgraded appliances and systems, and tandem axles + torsion suspension are ANYTHING but "Entry Level!"
This is great not only for families but also folks seeking extra cargo space. That bunk area makes for a PERFECT place for folding eBikes by the way!!.

Now this one would meet the full time living requirements of a lot of us. Power outlets in logical locations. I think I even noticed a power outlet above the dinette. Again, it would be very helpful if you would point out all the power outlets on your walk throughs. That may seem unimportant to some, but there are a lot of long term camper living people that need to know that information, because we do like our appliances and we do have to set up work stations and/or gaming PCs in our campers. Again, are the bunk beds easy to completely remove without affecting the structural integrity of the camper and is there a power outlet in that area? Thanks.

I wish they had more aluminum framing, like under the bed. The aluminum cross brace under the wood framing of bed, which is screwed to the wall is kind of cheesy. The interior aluminum framing the E/Geo Pro has makes them stand out above the Micro Minnie . The standard "welded I-beam frame" also make the E/Geo Pro stand out above the Minnie Minnie's huck bolted BAL frame. I've seen numerous NORCO brand huck bolt frames crack on the earlier Minnie Micros

Still love Winnebago!! My Dad bought one, 20' Brave, in 1973. I went with a bit more off grid, off road model but my heart is still pulled by a Winnie!! They absolutely do a fabulous engineering job. They really maximize every space! Great little unit. Thinking I'll put it on my SIL's radar! He's looking! Lol. Hoping to ratchet that up a notch this summer when I show up in my 5th wheel. I'd hang a net style bathroom organizer on that door, roll hand towels and wash clothes so they are right there in the bathroom! Cargo hold, if you're not punching the space under the dinette, caulk those spaces around the cut outs!! Cold air blowing up and through under the dinette gets cold!!

I’m still surprised there isn’t more competition in the market for dual axles in this size class. Besides the better ride comfort and safety and easier chocking, it lets them have significantly lower hitch weights that are compatible with a lot more tow vehicles. Other brands should pay attention to that more. I like that they fixed the sharp door handles - that was a crazy design choice and these make way more sense. The white backup lights are another great idea that other brands should mimic. (JayCo does already. Rockwood seems like the obvious next one that ought to be stealing this idea.) I am still bummed they dropped the option for a propane oven. I get not having it standard, but why is it not even available? That’s just dumb. (Also side-eyeing JayCo and Ember here.)

Nice sized camper for a small family or couples who want to enjoy the great outdoors and not park on the couch in front of a TV. Plenty of room to sleep, eat indoors on a rainy day and get cleaned up after a day of hiking. Glad to see you critiquing Winnebago’s again!

I really like Winnebago design and quality. This is a nice little trailer. The one thing that gets me though is the full size bed. Even a camp queen would be better. And the bunks are a little slim. Nice weight capacity, but a little slim at 26”. But then again, my kids are both under 10, so they’d fit, for now.I can’t wait to see more Winnies!

I have 2100BH which is slide version of 1800BH. Tendom axel and quality is great but a few thing I think it should improve: 1. Lower bunk no window will make lower bunk very hot no airflow. It should have some sorts of airflow or even tiny window. 2. Cabinet above sink is easy to bump head when you wash dishes or hands. Better to be a little more adjustment for head clearance above sink. 3. The wire operated black and grey tank valve is very fragile and not smooth to operate. With they just have classic gate valve. Other than that, it’s super cool camper!

I wouldn't mind seeing a video on different tires used on trailers. I don't recall you doing that before. Just seeing those big Goodyear off-roads on this trailer seemed like an interesting decision. Not necessarily a bad one, just something I have seen much from the factory or dealer.

Nice trailer for a comfortable off-road weekend! Room to move around but no sacrifices on storage! Love all of the high class features all around. The suspension is #goals!! They probably didn't include one there since the big vent fan is 3 feet away. But, it would be nice to have the fan right above the stove so that moisture and smell doesn't go further in to the trailer.

Josh: With an east-west bed, this isn’t really retirement grade friendly (2:35). You might still be too young to know but some seniors need to access the head during the night. And being up against the forward bulkhead and climbing over spouse in the middle of the night gets real old real fast. That’s the main reason someone else is now the owner of our Minnie Winnie 1706. And Winnebago might replace those steps with stable steps to be more retirement and senior friendly Respectfully, WS

All of the Minnies I've seen in dealer inventory (locally and online) have the Lippert Stable Steps, not the fold out steps like is shown on the one in this video. The one in the video might be old inventory at a dealer.

Looking extra peppy in this video? What gives? Haha! Love those trailers but the lack of a sink in the bathroom (for all the smaller bunkhouses below the 20bhs ) killed it for us. I was looking into a folding sink solution or a sink over toilet deal but couldn't find anything. The corner washbasins in the showers just don't cut it.

As a idea for under the dinette access: maybe a sliding tray that is used in cabinets? For the wall alongside of the cook top I would order another piece of back splash from Win parts and attach it to the wall or maybe a piece of tempered glass with spacers behind it to attach to the wall. Just a thought :)

Just put $500 deposit on one here in Florida. Filled out the credit application and are waiting to hear back. Offered to put down what ever the finance company wants ( 10%, 15% or 20%) so we get the best interest rate and lowest payments possible under $300 a month. Our credit scores are on the low 800's around 824 so we should get a good deal. It is about $34k plus dealer/delivery fees, tax & tag registration. Expecting to see the final draft to be around $37K to $39k so we may put down $4K to $8k. We wanted a mini bunk-house, solid two axle (off the beaten path) trailer we can use off grid that weighs in under 4,000 pounds dry weight. I learned alot about it in this video. FYI the charge controller for the solar is in the forward storage compatment. We will be moving it into the main cabin.

Hi Josh, long time viewer first time comment... I looked at the Winnebago website, at the 2023 1800BH floorplan and it clearly shows (and labels) a fold down sink in the shower in the drawing. But when I look at dealers websites of supposedly "2023" 1800BH's, none of them have a fold down sink in the shower. Do you have any info on this? Thank you!

First of all.. WELCOME! And ty for breaking radio silence lol I do not have info specific to that 1800. I can tell you floor plan diagrams are often drawn up when the model is first conceived. If there are changes, then typically those drawings are not updated. There are also mid-season changes at times. So it's possible that's something they may have added later BUT.. existing dealer inventory lacked the feature. Or the other way around. It may have been deleted mid-season but the floor plan photo was not updated. Our local folks could dive into that for you

I have to first and foremost advise against it as that area isn’t intended for sleeping and isn’t ventilated properly. If the doors closed on them, then that could be hazardous I would estimate there is space there but again advise against using it for sleeping space

Winnebago builds a quality unit. I am not a fan of the bed layout and I would prefer a theater seating situation to a dinette. The look is very modern and even though there is lower white cabinets they don't give off a farmhouse vibe at all so that will please many people. The bathroom is okay. I miss having the sink and medicine cabinet as a getting ready area. I'm not sure if it's worth the price as it's not my ideal layout but I do appreciate the extra cargo area and function that the storable bunk provides.

I like the Micro Minnie, I am considering the 1708FB and the bunk version. I did not know they changed the AC, is it loud or not? If I were to purchase one, I would install a 200-amp hour Lifepo4 battery and another 100 watts of solar. Then we would have a real road warrior worthy camper. It needs very little upgrades, great unit.

At the time they did. I haven’t heard anything to the contrary as of late Haylett rv made the hard call to part with Winnebago when they struggled to sell. They’ve made huge advances since and I don’t expect that to be the case now

Josh, we love you! The full size bed is a deal breaker for us. We want a queen (even camp queen 60 in wide) minimum. 54 just isn't wide enough. Otherwise this is a nice camper!!!! I do have a request though. I love that you did this on the video. Could you please announce the weight capacity of the bunks every time when you do a bunk house RV/trailer? This is fast becoming a pull our hair out frustration thing as we see models we like, but can't find this information ANYWHERE!! I have even downloaded owners manuals on some and they just aren't mentioned. This is actually crucial to our search. Thanks in advance!

still love winnebago. not looking for a bh, nor an off road type camper tho. more looking for a winnebago 'couples' or single person camper with a dinette and a couch, even if its longer and wider. yes, i dont care for the flip down top drawer either, but as u said, its an easy fix...and would prefer a walk around bed. i did note looking on winnebagos website that the majority of what they sell dont have an oven anymore, sad. i do like their interior decor tho...the East/West u previewed a few weeks ago was about the same decor and about what i was looking for, but had serious questions on it when i clicked on the Bish website and saw it was suggested at over $42G but on sale for like $20G...i like reasonable pricing but like anyone, would question that much of a drop as to the quality, fit and finish. but, i did look at it real hard. another great vid Sir, keep up the great work.

That is one of the nicest small bunkhouse trailers I’ve seen. Winnebego uses Azdel in their trailers. Is that true of that one as well?

This would be perfect for an active family who just need a place to sleep and get in out of the rain. EXCEPT, there’s no bathroom sink. This leads me to wonder, is there such a thing as an RV (other than a pop up) that has a toilet and sink, but no shower? I remember when we tent camped we would see people who had RVs using the bath house to shower. I’d prefer no shower over no sink. I’m probably in the minority.

I love the aesthetics of this one, and the storage is fabulous. I would prefer a slide out in the table area, and a sofa there instead of the tables. I can use TV trays… I’ll be retiring March 2027. My three best friends and I will be transitioning to an RV life, selling our homes and RVing full time. I’d love to find a 5th wheel with designated sleeping areas for 3 single adults (one friend already has hers, and will be married by then, so they’ll have their own) with slides and preferably a rear kitchen, but I can compromise on that. I’d love your input. I’ve been watching your videos and researching for over a year. You seem so knowledgeable, any ideas? Also, it MUST be less than 26 feet, as I want to be able to park in all the national parks, and 4 season ready, as we hope to visit some cold places as well. Thanks for the fantastic videos! You are my favorite RV reviewer, by far.

I personally think the new ember you carry has now set the bar higher and most companies are going to now have to look at them, even though they are a new company and we have yet to hear defects, the fit and finish seems to be of higher quality now. And unfortunately I feel when the winnebago has decreased its value of quality. I only say this because my dad currently owns a winnebago motor home and has been plagued with issues, however my grandpa's old winnebago motor home has has been outstanding.

Not crazy about the window and screen at the foot/head of the bed. It would be too easy to put a foot through the screen and then the pillows and head or back support issues.

I would think that they could put a small flip down sink in the shower to wash your hands. To me that would be good.

All that $$$ and still no bath sink??? Unacceptable considering how upscale it looks. My much cheaper stick & tin single axle bunks-front queen has, along with a nice sink cabinet and counter.

Two thing i could care less abt is the tv and a phone! IF they gonna stick with the goofy booths at leaste have the seat lift to access the storage. I'm too old to crawl around on the floor even with a slide tray. They have one w/o bunks? I'm confused with the storage - so the bunks flip for storage? I'd stll want a generator. Solar doesn't do well in the woods. I know part of the price is the nameband but where I'd be taking this is not to an rv park!

Josh, you look great in that Micro! Of course anybody looks better in a great looking Winnie :) I am a long time fan of the Micro's. My older Tundra with 1,330 Lb CCC and 7,300 Lb tow capacity would be a perfect match. I love the Win. material quality, the dual axle on the BAL NXG frame is a WINNER! Love the Huck-bolt construction, then Azdel in the walls, the change to a rigid solar panel this year instead of the flexible panel from last year, the solar panel package that you added is how my roof would look.....570 watts on the roof and a 200 watt portable on the ground to chase the sun with. A 12V fridge would be needed even for boondocking, the solar Li would support it with no problem. Really a great bathroom for the size trailer, sink not needed: the kitchen sink is 5 steps away. The E-W bed helps to give more room in the living area......I like that. I love the bunks, as a solo I would use them for storage. Under the bottom bunk would have a Li battery bank, MultiPlus Inverter/charger etc etc. I would like that Win would offer a oven as a option or a much larger convection oven. It needs a range hood and a better quality fan in the roof. I would switch out the TV for a 32". I would also like to see a sofa as a option also. That's it though! I love this one and the 2100BH....please do a vid on it Josh...please:) Thanks for another quality walk through!

6:22 no. Phone charge location is bad. As a “family trailer” you can expect every 10 year old in there to whip the phone outside and stomp on it before they realize the music shut off
