I miss those old auctions, went to a lot of them as a teenager with my dad. Old chainsaws are kinda a disease! In '73-'74, Dad and older brother cut all the trees with a blue and white XL12 manual oiler Homelite and skidded them out with a '38 John Deere B ($100 delivered trade in at the JD dealership!) then had them milled on a home built mill by an old Finn, powered with a '37 JD model A. Years later I bought a blue and white XL 12 at a swap meet, dad got a big smile on his face! It runs great and rips a 20" bar.
I must have missed you at the sale yesterday. My wife came back from paying at the trailer and asked if I said HI to you. Apparently, I missed you. You were spot on with your assessment of the auction. I had some interest in the bn forklift but it was missing part of the rollbar/roof. The company I worked for 35 years ago did a lot of work on them and I'd go to grand junction to get the specialty parts for the mast. The tractor parts were available through IH and aftermarket. Good times.
Probably more support at the local level. You get outside of SW MI and most people have never seen them. You never see them at shows either. Not even at Red Power.
Yeah online bidding has ruined the fun deals. I don't trust some of the houses I prefer the bidders to be in the room so I know I am bidding against a real person.

Body by Fisher. That means the body was built at the Fisher Plant in Detroit Michigan. My buddy has a nova with the same tag. Had a relative who worked at the Fisher plant many moons ago.

Those old saws are heavy. Didnt even now David Bradley made a saw. That's cool. Wish u could have got that ih cream separator but ya went for big money. Crazy the manual was with it yet
Cool old saws if you used one of them all day you would know you did something the lemans was early 70s if you want to know age of car or truck inside the drivers door there’s a tag gives built date paint code
I collect old Sears and David Bradley stuff, good buy on tge old saws, they are cool! (I agree with your i hate Tecumsehs comment. Owning sears suburbans for years you get tired of those junk ass engines)
