You truly are an inspiration. I'm almost a decade in to teaching and I still learn so much from your videos. This is the support new teachers should receive to be ready for the classroom. I share your videos with my students teachers to guide them on their journey and help them feel better prepared. Thank you!🥰

Tiffany, thank you so much for doing these mini lessons! I returned to the classroom last year after being out for 10 years. Your videos have helped TREMENDOUSLY with getting my head back in the game. I learn something from all of your content. Especially love these mini lessons, though! You break everything down so thoroughly. Thank you for all you do. You are AMAZING!❤

Thanks for doing these mini lessons! You are a model educator! I feel like administrators judge us on the execution of lessons and behavior management but they don't often give us opportunities to actually view great exemplars.

💚 this video. I pick up students for Reading intervention . I will add this to my expectations. 💚 that you document negative behavior right away! Adding that, too. Also I’m teaching my students to be humble and think of others.

Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it. I wanted to know what the rest of my classroom doing and how I will model how they need to behave.

Great techniques specially speaking quietly to them. Sadly, my small group became groups of 8 and then small groups weren’t possible anymore when I had 40 students in the class some sitting on the floor because I had no chairs and no desks for them. Teacher shortage became ridiculous. Perm teachers took off to have a mental health day. I thank God I kept my sanity during that time, but one time I couldn’t do it anymore and I yelled at the students and made a 17 year old girl cry. I never want to go back to that. That’s not me, but the situation put me in that position.

Heeeeey Mrs. May 👋🏾👋🏾 Now this was GOLD for me. I LOVE this🎉!! You touched on SO many crucial details (i.e. time, the importance of modeling, expectations, behavior man, ect). GOLD!!! I tell you❤. Please do more on small group. Like an actual session. I was assigned small group during the summer and it really requires practice. There's so much info we want to share, but very little time. Our small group for 2nd graders was 20mins and we rotated once. The kids LOVED it!!! I hope they don't prefer Summer School lol 😂.

Do you teach them to stand up when visitors ( principals , VP ) show up at your class ? Or do you consider that old school ? Just curious
@OneFABTeacher
@OneFABTeacher Год назад
NO, they just smile, wave and keep working. I do teach them that if someone comes in and starts asking them questions ( principal, VP) then they must give eye contact and respond. ((HUGS))

The circles you are describing are they the dry erase circles that can stick to the tables? If so, which do you prefer? Thank you for this mini lesson. These are great reminders/tips for all teachers.
@OneFABTeacher
@OneFABTeacher Год назад
Yes! I just create them with my Cricut. I don't like using them for dry erase, just a place for them do work and stay in their area. Thank you for your support. ((HUGS))

You are a wonderful teacher! Love your "teacher voice/energy". My trouble is that during mini-lessons my students think it is Therapy session time. -_- I teach title 1 & there are many issues at home. It's hard for them to open up and I do not want to shut them down while they feel safe reaching out. kids do not trust counselors as much. I give them other opportunities to talk but they somehow only feel comfortable talking during small group. What would you suggest to get them to focus on learning the mini-lesson and share with me later? Thanks!! :)
@OneFABTeacher
@OneFABTeacher Год назад
I understand. However, we must teach students there's a time and a place. I would create a lunch bunch group. I LOVE eating with students. I try to at least once a week and sometimes twice. It's a great way for them to let out what they need to talk about. Sometimes I have kiddos come in a group of four, three, two, or just one on one. Maybe have some kind of a jar and sticky notes beside it and when they need to talk to you they can write their name on a sticky and put it in a jar. When you can call them up and chat for a bit or ask them f=to have lunch with you to chat. Whatever you prefer. I truly believe in teaching them that there's an appropriate time to discuss personal issues. Hope this helps. God Bless! ((HUGS))
