Thank you for what you do. 😊 Hope you are a volunteer as well. I own a 1971 SeaGrave engine. It is for KIDS to enjoy, get behind the wheel. I fill the Air pack compartment with Fire Extinguisher I carry up to a 50 pounder plus pressure water and one old school hand pump can I have magnetic stickers for Door for Fire Cadets programs that I take the old girl to When the PIO does kids education events, I can stay at events if the in-service Engine that comes, has a Run. That way the kids can still get in my Rig. Plus with the old school jump seats, the cab is straight through. It's a 5 speed Spicer/Dana matched to an 8V-71 Detroit My wife had me run the two pipes up top so smoke is not blowing on kids. This last Christmas I drove Santa ( retired FF) to his hut for big city Community events. 😊
@@ChasRize Believe me. I was a RESIDENT FF in the mid 70s till the Early 80s. It was a blast living in the Fire Station. Paying no Rent. I stayed lots of money to eventually BUY a home. We got a small amount of Pay for things like a full house clean Day. Back then you got points for calls. So you got TWO checks a year from the district. The big Difference in today's world is all the other special things like ( Haz-Mat) that you need extra training on. The ( EMT) training is great also. Have seen volunteers get jobs with private
@mooseriddle Don’t bash Mike like that. He doesn’t just choose where he goes; he gets invited. That’s what so special about this channel. It’s not Mike just deciding on where he visits, but his followers who invite him.
We don’t cold call any longer. They need to reach out to us first with the invite. Too many other already asked for us to cold call stations. We would love to get everyone on our list to visit though. So if you know how to have them reach us please have them do. We would love that
You should check out the Kentucky area plenty of fire departments I went there on vacation once and the amount of career staff amazed me, most Fire departments in Kentucky are career based with a few volunteer ones. Also Great Video I like the series where you show different stations across the states.

In Virginia there is a burn ban from February 15th to April 30th. You cannot burn anything until past 4pm due to historic weather conditions and there being high winds during this time
They should spin that tank or 180° and have it positioned directly behind the first out engine for structure fires instead of having it going out the back door that makes no sense
And the UTV trailer should be directly behind the brush truck and the Hazmat trailer behind that and the big rescue should be parked behind your main Rescue Unit the Silverado the Silverado should be in front of the big rescue in the big rescue should be behind the Silverado if your Silverado is truly your main medic unit. The tankers behind the right vehicle but is pointed the wrong way it's behind the engine just spin it 180 so they can just come out the same door for a structure response that's just common sense
