You'd think that fema, the people who's job it is to respond to emergency situations, would have had some time in their full time jobs working on emergency response plans to plan for possibilities like this...
You're in the USA, you barely pay taxes and you do that for a reason. That means you'll need to deal with the limited emergency and government services you get as a result.
Boats hitting bridges, planes falling apart, trains derailing, food and meat facilities burning down. The pattern recognition part of my brain is telling me "Nothing to see here, move along".
You guy's ever get tired of going from minor disaster to minor disaster screaming about how each one is proof that the world is about to end, or the country collapse?
My brain is telling me that we have an incompetent transportation secretary who is simply not doing the job he was hired to do. Get rid of him! Replace him with someone who is actually qualified for the job.
For real! Any barge captains out there? Now listen up ladies and gents. I don't know what those bridges did to you all. You're right, if I knew I'd be pissed, too. I get it. But we need you bridges, and you captains, to work this out. Be professional, both sides. (Glares at the bridges. Points menacingly at the captains.) No more hitting each other. I don't care if the bridge started it.
@quesadilla79 wrong.. this is rare but with the massive storms and rising waters with record floods it's still worth investigating who's the idiot that let this happen
@@quesadilla79 Genuine question about that. Is it actually happening more than usual? Or are they just showing us the normal stuff that "happens on the reg" more than usual?
Odd the reporters didn't even mention the bridge collapse by barge in Maryland, recently. Not even concern about, "are barge operators being tested for drugs/alcohol or up to date on licenses?" Has anyone been detained for questioning?
No, it is not normal and I hope more people wake up and see what is happening because we are under attack and guess what administration is behind it???????
Well, why would this be sabotage? I mean outside of a possible insurance scam to get a new bridge built for that island, there is nothing nefarious about this incident. No mass conspiracy to seek to destroy all our bridges. I mean, why would you target a bridge that only goes to a couple small factory buildings and a university campus that just finished up their semester and graduations? Likewise, why would some nefarious power seek to destroy the Francis Scott Key bridge at 3 in the morning instead of during rush hour 5 hours later? Simple facts like this make me highly doubtful of any grand conspiracy going on because none of the events and facts point to it.
Like everywhere else, people are letting the rules that are in place slide. Those doing so have not been educated on why you should follow rules even if you don't get their purpose. Instead, they were taught that the rules made by a corrupt patriarchy, are just to keep them down.
Honestly most the bridges cannot handle the kind of ships and barges that are now around. Cities have cut funding for re-enforcement of bridge structures, and this is the result. A lot of these bridges need to be replaced they well past their experiation date given what now exists.
The water is brownish mostly because of silt, whereas crystal clear water doesn’t have silt, just sand. It may not be entirely clean, but it’s not as nasty and polluted as people think just judging by the color.
@@tangyjoe4326 Yea there is plenty of sealife in those waters...crabs, dolphins, pelicans, seagulls, etc. which is why this news would be absolutely devastating to their ecology.
@@tangyjoe4326 Yes it is very nasty in 2010 BP had the biggest oil leak in history of the world killed 13 there for months millions of gallons leaked everyday and BP didn't give 2 shts as they walked out of congress in the middle of questioning.
...don't see any clean-up efforts (Coast Guar or otherwise)! That dark line of floating oil took some time to stretch as far as it has. One would think in such a heavily trafficked shipping area there would already be rapid oil-spill response unit(s) ready/available wouldn't one?
Exactly , plus this happened at about 10 am --- No major Conference, as they don't want Americans to know ! They keep sending billions of money to other countries but that Criminal administration since January 21,2021 Hasn't done anything for us the American Citizens but , make us pay more for everything !!! Things will continue to get worse until they are held accountable, just like our border here in Texas , still illegals crossing daily 24/7 .. It's disgusting!
who touched you? lol boats still leaking, this dude is 10 years down the road in court steaming over a case that has nothing to do with him... keep drinking pal, its doing wonders!
Lol, you do know that these hapends on average 2500 times a year. I mean thousand beyond thousand of boats go under bridges e ery year. Strike are going to happend. Just like when cars hit something
The good news in this is no deaths and the rail line dead-ends at the end of the bridge; not used. I do hope they stop the leaking oil and get that cleaned up fast.
If you ever seen how low this bridge was you would be surprised it made it 60 years, we have bridges falling down all over the state. If they were under regular inspections and repair probably minor damage, leave Greg Abbott in charge for decades and old crap just gets ignored so it collapses.
Why do field reporters always say “as you can see” when there is no need to say that? Better to succinctly describe the area that we are supposed to be seeing.
1. housing 2. utilities and 3. taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. are way too high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gulf Shrimp will be on sale all week harvested fresh from the bottom where fresh oil resides and approved by your friendly US FDA, pick yours up today you want em we got em.
Kinda weird that something similar just happened like 6 weeks ago in Baltimore. Are these boats all being driven by some faulty autopilot with the same bug or something?
They also won't actually run our economy. The batteries along would wipe out half the planets leftover reserves of lithium. Or something crazy like that. Unfortunately, it's just not enough. Let alone every 15-20 years it would need to ALL be ripped out, windmills, solar panels and batteries and COMPLETELY replaced. No one seems to talk about any of this. Nuclear is definitely the way to go. With a combination of hydro, solar and wind to supplement. But you simply can't run the U.S. economy on wind and solar. It's not realistic. Let alone, it's ignoring the super obvious fact that.... barges would still go down our rivers. They don't only move oil and gas. But ALL major exports from the Midwest end up going down the Mississippi.
Same thing happened in Fort Madison Iowa a week ago barge breaks loose and hits bridge in Fort Madison Iowa later sinks into River recovery efforts still going on
Naw Not with a Republican Governor, wonder what they’ll say now after what happened and their thoughts about the Baltimore Bridge collapse. Inquiring minds would like to know ! 💯🤔
@@damiantoth8577 you mean the ones that leak about 200 barrels of oil a day? Those pipelines? No one's stopping them from transporting it in those leaking pipelines.
@@TheHonestPeanut You think the oil companies would just let 200 barrels go down the drain everyday and lose all that revenue and instead of fixing them? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
tens of millions of unvetted people coming into the country and this is yet another bridge collision limiting access for major industry. i'm sure this sort of thing has been happening all the time across the country in the past. if this is true, why is everyone making it newsworthy? If this is a rare occurrence, then why is not being investigated by actual journalists?
It's a damn oil barge full of friggin oil, but we don't know where it was or how it got there or who it belongs to or who was driving it but damn ....look what happened.
The rail-line was /is not operational and the actual damage to the vehicular causeway is minimal. Oil-spill is minimal and risk to shipping in/out of "Galveston Bay" is minimal. Stop being so "apocalyptic" in your reporting!!!!
How much are these people being paid to crash ships - and the economy? I have never heard of this type of thing - then in less than 2 months, it happens twice? Wow.
Sorry to hear you think you were an accident. Under your definition, everything is a an accident - including everything you say and do. Was your reply and accident? Pretty sure my parents got married to start a family and have kids, so I am not sure I would consider myself an accident, but here on purpose.
What/where is this almighty resource which holds ‘the truth’? Is it you? Are you ‘the science’? So glad to know I finally found some who is knows all. Thank you god!
Vacuum oil gas is typically used as a feedstock for the production of various products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other petroleum-based products. It is also used in the production of lubricants, waxes, and other industrial chemicals. Additionally, vacuum oil gas can be used as a fuel for heating and power generation in industrial processes. For the people who don’t know what it is
Two in what two months? One closes a port. This one closes the only road to a small island AND causes an oil spill? I don't believe in conspiracy theories but wtf?
