I just love this book with my whole heart. 🥰 Elvin writes just the best characters. I love Harley & Findlay’s friendship too I am pleased you mentioned that. It was great to hear both your thoughts ❤
Thanks for this! I was interested if only because I had been hearing about it everywhere. But I really love this very level headed perspective. always can count on you two.
Lovely chat about the book. It’s now on my radar and to watch Shawn’s video. I have so much to catch up on. I have There are Rivers in the Sky to get to too.
I really enjoyed this book, which I read last year. I made a playlist of all the songs - I love it when there are pop culture references in books! I got a bit frustrated with the overuse of the word "pal" at times 😂 but I really liked the different characters and the types of relationships discussed. It was quite a hug in a book 😊
When you talked about my video and said “He’s such a sweet young man,”I was delighted. Then I realized you were referring to Elvin, not me. 😂😂😂 This was a delightful conversation. You’ve brought the book back so vividly! Glad you both enjoyed it, and you’ve got me curious to try the audiobook for my second go-around! 🎉🎉❤❤
Great conversation .( I thought it was Small Pleasures until i stopped scrolling) ...I agree , one coincidence per plot is acceptable ....a contemporary novel i can recommend digging into friendship , slightly darker but with a great slice of dry Chicago humour , is Right After the Weather by Carol Anshaw. Have you read her ? She certainly someone who knows how to write .
@@scallydandlingaboutthebook2711 Here's another . Elizabeth Harrower , Australian author who wrote in the 1950s . Just read The Long Prospect and it's so good ....
