What's the deal with all the these giant boats with enough seating to hold a small town but there are always just a few people on board??? But then you have these very small boats that are way over crowded???
Some of these boats do a better job handling the waves than others . The hull design keeps the bow well above each wave . The one that stands out is the HCB ! Possibly the Captain is more experienced in these conditions .
Why are none of these people being stopped by the sheriff for their children not wearing life jackets? In Michigan you would see lots of people being pulled over for it.
Yeah, don't you know that kids in Florida float better and can tread water longer than kids in Michigan. Ain't no one gonna tell us that we have to protect our kids.
I think the signalling at c.5:40 would be more effective if they bothered to use the signalling device they are required to have aboard their vessel to do so.
One thing very upsetting to me in some of the videos is the children without life jackets. Blatant negligence, blatant disregard. California law mandates that every child under age 18 must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket. Their motto, “Save The Kids You Love.”
@1:00 Dad has too be cool and run the Freeman out in those condition with his family who I guess he does not value that much. The Freeman is a tough boat, no doubt, but stuff happens and can go from good to bad very quickly....then what? They cause others to risk their lives to possibly save someone who made a bad call. No PFD's on the kids (at least I could not see them). The lady in the back looks like she is holding an infant. They don't belong out there on a day like that. Testosterone takes over with the guys behind the wheels... notice I did not call them captains. There are plenty of other places to take the family for a boat ride, the inlet and ocean was not one of them that day. @4:30... good call, make the U-turn. >>This video has to take the prize for the most idiots in a single video I have seen in a while. Not a bad day at all. It's rough in the inlet and wasn't even that rough. More than enough boat and power-- family strapped in safely. Not risky for an experienced captain.
Terrible move leaving the helm like that unless his leash is that long? Also don't see a life jacket and the third strike is going out in that kind of weather. Just not worth the risk. Googan.
I'll put my straight male creds up against anyone's, and thongs are a big turn-off. Maybe it works for frat dudes but even in my own frat dude years, many moons ago (sorry!), I doubt it would inspire anything but laughter.
