Located in Big Bone State Park in Boone County, Kentucky, the Masons built this church in 1888 for the Big Bone Methodists congregation which organized the year before in 1887. The interesting part about this church is that the upstairs is actually a Masonic Lodge. The lodge portion features a special small door that slides open to view who may want to enter the lodge without having to unlock the door. The church features Victorian architecture with pointed curved windows and stained glass.
There is a natural sulphur spring located behind the church which supplied water for the congregation when it was first established. However due to the smell of the sulphur gases, Big Bone Lick Park officials had the spring capped back in the 1970s.
