Glad you enjoyed it, yes what a superb old brand they were too and another that has sadly gone by the by. I use to have a couple of the old FX30s and loved them.
Glad to see you’re feeling better since you contracted that dreadful ecoli bug , I hope you didn’t catch it from in that river you were just fishing in. But glad to see you back out fishing.
Hi Mark, you have nothing to thank, we thank you for the wonderful videos where everything is visible in detail and the comment is bombastic. nice work
Ultimate summer chubbing! I didn’t expect you to get a second chance in that jungle swim although the fish there are probably less easily spooked because of its inaccessibility. Great video as always.
Cheers Bob and agreed I suspect the same of it being fairly overgrown and a bit of a holding area. Suspect the water being more coloured than usual for there helped a little too. The amount of hemlock and hogweed I'm seeing since last season has definitely increased in my rivers, I presume due to such a wet winter and spring. How are you finding these poisonous plants on your rivers?
Hi Mark. I’m afraid I’m not sufficiently knowledgeable in regards to those invasive plants but what I would say is that the weed growth in a couple of the streams I fish seems to have increased significantly over the past couple of years. In some cases it renders previously tricky swims almost impossible to fish. There is of course the other issue of nutrients entering the rivers as runoff that could well be a factor in the growth of both native and invasive water plants. Generally speaking I’ve found that things have become more challenging. I’ll shortly be putting up a video from Thursday if you want to have a peek at one of the streams in question. I gave you a mention 😊
@@BobGoesFishing yes I think the increased sewage run offs haven't helped in thst regard too and I'll certainly have a viewing of the video bob. I have watched yours for a while especially the chub ones as I enjoy small rivers.
Great angling brother. Love these kind of vids. My local river is very similar to that. so much fun knowing that you've worked hard for every fish. Look forward to the next session.
Another enjoyable video. Angling in the purist sense. Forget bite alarms, two rods, heli-F'in leads, super-duper hooklinks, bloody instant-hooking twigs and 360* hooks with mag-aligna 🥱. How about just a split shot and pinch of bread to catch some lovely wild fish👍🏻
Great return some quality Chub their my friend & just like me own fishing pure jungle warfare but it worth it that's where chub are so I'm their haha but well done Mark tight lines
Thanks and I'm fairly immune to stinging nettles now but will say that there's still nothing worse than knee cap stinging nettle stings.. Last for seemingly ever 😂
Some great angling from tight spots Mark. Good advice with the wading staff and sometimes a lifejacket if you don't know the stretch can give you the extra confidence to wade.
Lovely fish, Mark. I was out chubbing this afternoon, a frustrating session also on a small river. Smashed up twice in the first four casts, on 4lb line freelining meat under the rod tip. Presumably a very large chub or possibly a barbel that went off like a train. Then a pike moved in the swim, and was bitten off twice. Tired of leaving ironmongery in the fish, I lasted an hour and landed one modest chub. Hope to return with heavier tackle tomorrow.
@@markerd5378 Thanks Mark. The return was successful, they were barbel! Still under-gunned on a snaggy swim with 8lb line and 1.5 lb rod. Will go for hit and hold gear next time.
Hi mate great video as always. Did you paint your Rod tip ? As I bought a couple of these rods on your recommendation, but they don't come with a white tip.
@@serioussmoke1123I think the newer models they shortened the white tip mate from what I can tell. Bit stupid really isn't it. No I haven't painted mine.
Mark is a great angler and his videos are so good to watch, but I wish he would note the location. Fishing should be something shared, to be enjoyed by all. Why are people so reluctant to share locations? Especially as he is soooooo brilliant at describing the tackle, bait, loose feed etc. I thought it was only carp anglers that were overprotective....
You sound like you've spent some time around the Wasing guys 😂. But seriously I'm pretty surprised when people expect others to openly break open locations. What you see me doing here you can also do Jared, put in the time and effort..
