Just little warning: If you're also running Alex's Mobs, the ships' collision damage will aggro cachalot whales, which will destroy your ship instantly, and probably kill you. They also have a tendency to swim directly into your ship, making them difficult to avoid. Set collision damage to zero to avoid this.
Cachalot whales are absurd! I tricked an Ice & Fire Sea Serpent into attacking one, and the whale hit it SO HARD the sea serpent died in mid-air several blocks above the ocean's surface. Do NOT make those whales angry.
I read that the next update (2.1.0) will add a Dockyard block that replaces the basic Ship crafting with a more sensible assembly system and serves as a Villager job site block. There'll also be a crashing mechanic, shipwreck models for sunken Ships, and an owner system. I'm excited for that one. I hope you do a follow up vid.
Perfect for Multiplayer! Love the huge storage and ability to practically take an entire village worth of beings from place to place! Perfect for someone who wants an island or underwater base!
I actually like that you can't place cannons on the Drakkar, it's a nordic ship. Also if you've built a Japanese styled town with a harbor having the galley's in the harbor would be absolutely beautiful. Personally I just went looking for a slightly faster boat that matches running speed of 11 or 15ish blocks per second. Did not expect the customizability and creative possibilities that goes into building cultural pieces for your towns.
Love what they've done with the mod, been waiting on an update like this for ages. Kinda wish that dyes wouldn't also change the color of the rigging as well as the sails but that's only a minor complaint about a cosmetic preference.
Kinda. The Ships do ride the waves but can't jump off large waves like Boats, at least on my end. Eureka and Valkyrien Skies vehicles ignore the waves completely, but players boarding them don't. Lol. Looks trippy as hell.
If this were to be added to vanilla minecraft id say that, if you wanna make a ship, youre not gonna be able to craft a sail, or else it would be too easy; youre gonna have to find it in a treasure chest
love this mod but does anyone know why it might be crashing when i open the ship inventory ? I keep getting the internal exception: java.util.concurrentmodificationexception and getting kicked from my server
