I think Ray’s reason for using the Nekron to have her brother was just out of desperation. Even thought they were genetically engineered, he was probably her only family, so things like forgetting military protocol or believing crazy things in the face of his death would make sense.

Yeah if there was an option to just heal and stay human then that puts more emphasis on the part of her backstory where it said she was acting on rumors about the healing abilities of the the pits.

Obviously this movie is gonna make people want actual toys to play with, whether they're children or adults who love action figures or the 1998 film, but it could also be an opportunity for a toy company to release the Commando Elite and the Gorgonites from the original movie after 25 years

I legitimately love Caden Cannon's look both before & after the death the original leader of the Nekronites. Plus I love the fact wounded body sharing exact features that Khadenn has. And I find it truly fascinating to see what the Nekron's resurrection process down to both the armor and weapon fusing to the flesh of the being. I'm honestly quite curious what the other members of the Nekronites looked like before the Nekron Pits.

I hope we get to see the original leader of the Nekronites too, all this backstory is fascinating…I really hope this movie shows more of the fictional backstory of these toys before we get to the showdown finale.

I would love for this movie to have a joke at some point where Khadenn tells Ray "I am no longer Caden, I am now...KHADENN!" and Ray says "well, you may be smart, but you aren't very creative, all you did was change the spelling of your name"

I recently found this and I gotta say I LOVED the Small Soldiers movie as a kid and it's so cool to see there are people out there who want to bring it back. I'm 34 and I still love toys/action figures. This is like seeing your bedroom floor action figure battles come to life and I am here for it.

Brilliant design on of all three stages of Caden's evolution. Giving him the choice adds a new wrinkle to the mystery of who's wrong. It still could have been deception or even the illusion of choice, but it also could be a huge secret that reframes everything.

In a war neither side ever thinks they are “wrong” so I would rather they keep it vague who is the “bad guys” it could even be part of the toy line itself. Simply framed as “rival factions” that is up to kids to decide through play which allegiance they side with most.

Kayden reminds me of Canard from the Mighty Ducks cartoon who lead the team before getting tragically imprisoned in a dimensional during the first three episodes, before Wildwing succeeded him.

I mean, wasn't the whole point of the original Small Soldiers that the on the box "lore" wasn't really reflective of how things actually were? And how does this play out with the actual toy part of the story? There wasn't actually a single Caden toy that got turned into a monster toy, the multiple "phases" we see would all be separate figures, all of them created as is.

yall realize because those toys are fully realized theyll be in the movie with agency, right? this is a small soldiers film. meaning their lore is background to the conflict in reality. IF this ever actually gets made that is.

The artstyle is so good, especially around the eyes I feel like there has been alot of attention to detail. These characters would fit right in with the first Small Soliders movie visually. Now just really eager to know the backstory of the creator of the toys themselves, why were they made etc? is it again a company trying to profit off selling kids toys where they have went all out on budget and put military chips in them?
