Man, i shake my head in disbelief watching your videos because of how easy you make it look. The control and accuracy you show even in windy conditions like this with long 7X is truly something else!

Great skills Tom - the control that you have with an 11’ rod and 7X tippet is a wonder to behold - not normal, mate 🙂 - I am pretty sure that your typical Euro Nymph setup pre the latest generation of Orvis Helios was shorter than 11’ (that said, I do remember seeing you fish with the Helios Blackout 11’ 3wt, which we now know was a pre-release of the latest generation of Helios rods) - but I see that you have now gravitated to the longer 3wt - what a great time that we are living in when companies such as Orvis can produce light 11’ rods with all that sensitivity and tippet protection, but also a strong butt for when you hook into a bigger fish. What are some of the nuances that you are finding now that you have fished the longer rod for a while - casting accuracy? the dreaded tendency of light tippet to wind around the rod tip on longer rod? sensitive of the tip to detect subtle takes?

Love the videos Tom, I mainly euro nymph on a dedicated rig, tri colour sighter etc. Any tip to quickly be able to change to dry dropper in a hurry? Float the sighter maybe? Or remove the sighter and fit a normal hand tied dry leader?

Awesome video Tom. Which Orvis rod is that and what size leader/tippet combo do you use in this case?

As in do you increase from a very fine tippet because of the wind, stay fine or go finer to cut the wind?

Hi Iain, Tom lists all the gear he uses in each video in the description below the video. Cheers, David

Love the waters and beautiful wild fish. Wish you could pan a little more slowly on the flies that you are using while releasing or rigging. Always eager to see the flies in action! I’ve tried filming myself and without a full time cameraman it is tough but just a slow look at your rig whenever possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
