@@Cec9e13 No one ever said introverts want randos to have deeper conversations with us with openers like your quote. You're thinking in an either/or, black/white, polarized framework. This video isn't about wanting a conversation like that with a rando. It's about going deeper with someone in an already established relationship. In other words, it's about a relationship evolving over time, not staying permanently shallow.
This is how I feel during a hair appointment… if only I could just listen to a podcast or read a book so I wouldn’t have to make small talk. I prefer heart-to-heart conversation and the hair stylist talk is 😫…😅🤪
This helped me know what small talk is. I still think dude small talk is 100% better than girl small talk which is often about feminine stuff I don't do or care about or have an opinion on.
I actually like small talk LOL I like hearing the mundane things in my friends' lives. We can talk about deeper stuff too, though I try to avoid being too insensitive because I try to make people think with my deeper questions.
This be me lot of times cause I just can’t think of interesting follow up questions in the moment so I just keep it basic and ask simple stuff but it makes me come off boring…eventually if I ever get comfortable with them they found out I have an actual personality and love me
My husband's job went remote in 2020 and our house was quite small, and I could hear him all day long. He is the master of corporate/tech support small talk. The YODA. As I watched the video, I thought, “I’d give anything to be with the annoying guy who asks lots of questions. I find that when I’m with other people, I will intentionally & with genuine curiosity, ask questions about others’ lives, but rarely will anyone ask me anything about my life. I rarely find anyone who knows how to engage in the back & forth of conversing-even in small talk conversing. Most people just talk about themselves. As a person who desires to connect with other people, I find social gatherings-even with my extended family members, to be a waste of time.
