Brennan did such an outstanding job at describing the level of expertise Cerrit needed to notice an invisible person behind him, in a mirror. "Smaller than grains of sand", such an apt title for this piece.
i love the haunting visual of Cerrit looking at his shattered reflection, the fracturing of his feathered form capturing his eyes more than once kinda reminiscent of a biblically accurate angel. idk whether it was purposeful but wicked nonetheless
Oh my god this really puts into perspective how creepy and insane that scene was. We had the music and the general table chatter going on in the background so it was less intense but this is just. Wow. I've got goosebumps
I tought It was pretty intense even at the table...Brennan and the players were pretty effin good at setting the right atmosphere, especially Brennan ofc.
"This is Talon to Wingspan, Talon to Wingspan. I am in position, and I am reporting that Egghead is preparing to break curfew, to sneak out of the house, to go to a party, and you said that she'd not aloud to leave, but she is about to leave. ~and she has no idea that I'm here, she has no idea that I can see her, what she's about to do~"
I picture Ceret looks super humanoid until he does these crazy perception checks, at which point he'd do that cool bird of prey sideways head thing scoping things out. Still very cool.
This is amazing! We can even see the two grain disapearing, as if the person blinked, great detail! And the fractured mirror effect is so beautiful! Really great work!
I love all the things you’ve added. As everyone has pointed out the audio work is amazing. I think my favorite has to be Cerrit ruffling his feathers like that, it is just perfect elaboration that makes so much sense.
It is indeed perfect but I don't think that's elaboration from the artist. Travis had indicated that Cerrit rustles his feathers this way when he's in "investigator mode".
@@naszfluckah7314 True, I’d forgotten that Travis had called that out in the episode, it’s slightly before where most people pick up to recap the scene. Excellent work from Travis adding this detail and I love its well executed inclusion in this animation.
I loves the description of the grains of sand. I really like that rationalization is invisibility that you have to be able to have light reflex off your eyes to see and people can roll super high and still see
That was so bloody cool and scary. I hope the cast sees this, because this interpretation is on point, and the audio is just * chef's kiss * Edit: also, I imagine that amazing shattered mirror bit must have been a pain to draw.
this very much so puts into perspective how scary this was in the moment. I mean, sure Cerrit is not as weak as I am, but having two kids this whole thing must have somewhat ruffled his feathers, pun intended. holy shit
what the hell, this deserves so much appreciation. beautiful interpretation of the scene and legitimately terrifying. so much fun to be in cerrit's shoes, if but for a moment.
I love your Cerrit, also Vespin Chloras is the absolute best. I love how you found the compromise to make him recognisable but also mutilated, as in Brennan's description. It also helped to distinguish him from the assassin killed by Cerrit. Great job 👍 I'm happy you are enjoying EXU calamity.
This is phenomenal, the audio work is just *chef's kiss* and the way you decided to take away the narrative of Brennan speaking to make this few even more like a movie was a master play. Now, excuse me, I'll be watching this on loop for a while
HOLY SHIT THE SOUND DESIGN ON THIS WAS LIT AS HELL. I NEARLY SCREAMED WHEN THE WHOLE THING SCREAMED AND THE GLASS SHATTERED AND !!! DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW I ADORED THE EMOTING VIA FEATHERS!!! HELLO!!!! HELLO!!
This is absolutely amazing! Really shows how creepy invisibility is and the whole aspect that there is just the smallest detail that someone is there is so perfect! Also, the way you were able to slice the audio so only the dialogue comes through is absolutely incredible!
Oh man, it was literally just 2 frames but I liked how you fractured Cerrit's image on the shattered mirror and re-fractured it again when he moved.👏👏👏👏 The blink was also a nice touch~
