Tom Welling (Clark Kent), Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and John Glover (Lionel Luthor) take you back in time to when comic book-based TV shows were new and Superman wasn’t so super yet!
Welling and Durance their chemistry is undeniable. Their chemistry was off the charts from their first scene together to the last! and 16 years later it still sizzles.
Poor Erica looks like she really wants to take part and be answering questions, but she's got these two comics at the far end of the table just riffing off of each other.
John Glover and Erica Durance looks great they still look like they're from the Smallville episodes John let his hair grow out Erica looks perfect great panel
Its typically how it goes its tom and michael and the rest look dumb sitting there, this is why you dont give peoplw questiona and should let the host do the asking
When about did Erica first appear on Supergirl? I'm betting I saw her and didn't recognize her. I watched the first 4 1/2 seasons, and then all my recordings got wiped out when my cable TV box went whacko on me. I am just terrible at recognizing actors' faces in different shows. No wonder I was fooled by Clark Kent being Superman for all these years, LOL..
@@rainbowpegacornstudios Well, yep, I saw those first 2 episodes and either I didn't notice her or I just totally forgot. Now the Infinite Earth's episode from season 5 is that the one when the 2 women come to the Kent farm to talk to Clark (Tom Welling) when he was chopping wood? I only watched the trailer where I heard the one woman call her Lois. If that is Erica Durance then I honestly didn't recognize her.
4:56 this is one of the most hilarious crowd interactions I have ever seen. Michael Rosenbaum roasting the kid and then delivers a plug for the show perfectly.
Tom is awesome and composed as usual and Michael being his charismatic and funny self. John Glover is such a nice guy while Erica is still crazy beautiful and a sweetheart.
I keep forgetting, but Tom's one hell of a burly dude! I think he'd be closest to some of the depictions of comic Superman than others have been, without having to pad the costume.
Feel a little bad for Erica. She clearly had an answer to the question re if it was easy or not for them get out of their characters' heads, but Michael beat her to it, and we never get to hear her answer. Michael seems cool enough, but Erica seems much more professional and serious. I definitely would have been interested in hearing more from her. She definitely seemed underappreciated at this panel.
Thats what always happen whenever there’s a panel with Michael. I love him and he is such an entertaining person. But sometimes you feel like he forgets the real meaning of meeting with fans in those panels. He is so happy to be there that he just does his thing like it was a one man show. And he does drag Tom with him. Erica always tries to give a real answer to fans because she knows it means a lot for them and like you said because she is really professional. Sometimes you even feel like she feels « ashamed » whenever a fan asks a question and he gets cut off because of one of the boys intervention and she is like « I am sorry can you repeat the question ». Kind of feel bad for her too, I guess they still have to find a balance between them (most from the boys..)
snazzynazzy my thought exactly, like the best idea would be to make Tom and Erica sit next to eachother but for some reason it never happens. And Michael can’t seem to stay sit, always finding a away to move around. As entertaining as it is I would rather have a more serious one with a lot of inputs than ones with the same old stories/jokes. And that’s so frustrating like you said Tom really gives real structured answers when he is not with Michael.
@@serenayd5653I agree with what you wrote. Michael seems cool. I enjoy listening to his podcast, but he has a tendency to take over and interrupt his guests on there too. I like that he is honest and that he makes his guests feel comfortable enough to open up, but I think he could listen more and talk less sometimes. The Routh episode comes to mind. Routh seems like a genuinely deep person, and his answers were cut off several times because Michael interrupted and started talking about himself. He is definitely a big ball of energy. I would love for him to have Erica on his podcast.
Colee B exactly ! I love Michael’s podcasts too (Can’t believe I still didn’t watch the one with Brandon...) he is doing an amazing job at getting the guests to feel at ease and open up, but then he is just so caught up in the moment because you could feel that he is totally living the moment and enjoying that he cuts them off. And that’s what happens in panels. As for Erica I so agree, I would love for her to appear on one of his podcast with him being less “borderline” and actually listening to her. Because like you mentioned he does hear people but I don’t think he quite listen to them.
@@serenayd5653 I've noticed this, And I think they don't sit together because they don't want rumors start around and mess up things with their partners (Erica's husband and Tom's wife)
These commentators and questions are terrible. And they ask the very same questions at every panel. No wonder they give the half ass joke answers, they’re bored to death.
@@BraxtonSharkboy They're bigger fans of celebrities than they are of the show. I normally just skip over the part where the audience member asks the question and I just listen to the replies because the audience members seem so star-struck that they can't quickly ask something.
This was hilarious! I just wish they could somehow screen questions beforehand. No offense to the fans, but I'd rather listen to questions about the show itself instead of what their favorite book is or something they did that was illegal. Michael's story about the guy breaking into his van took up too much time; granted, Michael in general took up too much time even if he is entertaining to watch. Plus, most questions were directed to Tom and Michael, so John and Erica spent most of the panel listening and adding their input here and there. Fun panel to listen to but not the most insightful one. Hoping one day, though, I'll get to attend a Smallville panel as I am a recent fan thanks to Hulu!
Yeah after you watch a couple of panels you realize fans ask the same questions which is why I think Tom and Michael start to joke around. Also Tom is the most popular actor from the cast (the main character) and after being in Lucifer he got a wave of new fans, taking all that into account it makes sense for him to get the majority of questions.
I just love watching Smallville over and over again especially season 8/9 10 ....about Clois and Clark .....what I really want is for Smaville to continue....CLARK KENT you made the best choice for a girlfriend...she is the best ..I love her style ..she is boss / rude ...😂
Erica overlooked the episode where she played an alternate personality. For Tom and John, it was Transference, but ED drew a blank. I thought she did a great job as Faora in S8's Faora. How did she forget that?
I get the feeling that Tom Welling is really over the role of Clark Kent. Which is sad because we all loved him so much as that character but that's the vibe I get from his behavior/body language during this panel.
I need this like water. I miss the days of watching Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Rosenbaum has the inside edge, he's gotta get this thing going!
Great to see these guys again . Was surprised that it was allowed to go ahead during pandemic. How come they are sitting so close to each other. Great video thank you for posting.
One of the best generation of actors. Today's actors just know how to make cultural references. We see 4 people of different backgrounds having fun about their past.
When I was watching this, I started singing "Walk Away Renee" just before they did. Also, FYI, my dad was one of the artists who worked on "The Secret of NIMH," so I loved when Michael Rosenbaum mentioned it.
wow I'm so stupid. I thought the actor that played Cain in Lucifer was an older relative to the actor that played Clark Kent in Smallville. My brain just do not want to comprehend that so much time has passed.
I love John Glover he makes me laugh right off the bat. Lois and Lex did kiss in an episode when Jimmy bumps his head but I guess he forgot about that. Everyone is amazing actors on this panel. Tom Welling is actually in a show called Professionals with Brendan Fraser it's really good! I don't understand why Michael doesn't get those special color glasses. As if the guy asked him to sing the song I would be so sad, he can't sing he's not Scott Grimes.
Why remake such a great show? Unless you mean a sequel. If so, you can't expect to see Tom Welling in it and definitely not Allison Mack. I'm sure it's possible to be done but then, some awfully good replacements would be required to replace those 2.
When we see Tom feeling so uncomfortable and loveless about playing superman, feeling glad he never had to wear superman's cape, is when we see how special Chris Reeve was, how much he loved and understood the character, his importance for fans and people's collective imaginary.
Smallville was about Clark Kent discovering who he was and where his place was during his early years. They have explained before what exactly it was about. I, and I am sure a lot of others, are glad he didn’t put on a costume. The costume is not what makes the hero. That is what makes Smallville endearing and why they have such a huge following. I refuse to watch any of the other shows about Superman.
@@cherylebbs2079 Smallville had 217 episodes. He had 216 episodes to discover who he was. He was supposed to dress up as superman in only 1. He refused and they had to rewrite the episode because of that. There's no excuse for it. That was a great disappointment for the fans. He is actually ASHAMED to use superman costume. He refused again in his cameo in the Arrowverse.
@@16422461 did you hear him say he was ashamed. He may have disappointed some of you fans but not all. There are still millions of us that are happy with Smallville. Btw, you still don’t get it. The show was about the early years of Clark Kent not Superman!
