They continued Smallville and called it Arrow as Green Arrow appeared on the show. Then Supergirl which was on Smallville but was called Kara, John Jones (martian manhunter) on Smallville but they changed his name to Hank Henshaw on Supergirl.
I like your ending because we don't actually have to have a conversation with Lois and Clark at the Daily Planet just before another distress situation happens that needs Superman. We just need to see that Clark embraced his alter ego and is doing the stuff that we already know Superman does.
Smallville season 10 finale Revision of Lois Lane and Clark Kent when the Clark became superman. Needs to Smallville season 10 Revision in the dvd and the bluray. When the Clark Kent was flying with his outfit to Airforce one.
The thing that always bother me about that scene is Clark never had the ability to fly before and a lot of character on the show had it (Martian Manhunter, Kara, Zod, Brainiac). How did he knew it was Clark?
Yea, I wondered why was Lana in Smallville? Was she there to bust Clarks chops since she is now a Kryptogirl. Full of Kryptonite. Also why in the scene with her when a guy came up to her she lacked super powers? These are on my dark side and it is a thorn in my side. But great ending for a series that needed to end after ten long years.
+Fat Mann That was before she got her powers. What you saw was taken from Smallville season 6, episode 1 - Zod. She got her powers in season 8, episode 13 - Power.
People need to realise, that the reason Smallville didn't really focus on screen time with the suit is that, this is entirely an origin story. If they ran a whole season or even a couple episodes of Clark (superman) in the suit it'll ruin the illusion of the fact that this is just an origin story. Not about him being superman but becoming superman.
but the whole reason the show was called smallville is because it was suppose to be about clark being raised in smallville. but after season 6 the show didn't take place in smallville anymore. it was mostly in metropolis but clark still lived at the farm for some reason. which didn't make sense because Jonathan was dead and Martha left to do senator stuff and only returned for one episode in season 9 and 3-4 episodes in season 10. clark was better off just getting an apartment in metropolis instead of having to make the trek back and forth to smallville everyday. superspeed or not that is a waste of time. and clark was basically superman already. no he didn't fly but he wasn't being raised by the kents anymore, worked at the daily planet with lois, found the fortress of solitude, knew right from wrong and changed from street clothes into his black t-shirt with trenchcoat, or blue shirt with red leather jacket, depending on the season. they should of ended smallville after season 6 and made a sequel series about clark being superman and called it "METROPOLIS"
@@pishposh1504 but in seasons featuring Lois, Smallville is HINtEd at and He and she is a big part why this show remained the title name of Smallville.
This is awesome!!!! I had always hoped it would end with Tom in the suite flying around the earth just like the movie this is awesome looks so professional
Thank You Thank You ThankYou!!! After 10 years of 'teasers' - brilliant writers and producers and spectacular buildup that pointed to the kind of ending depicted here...just to fizzle out in bed...What the hell was on their minds??? I would've have signed off around season 5 if I suspected what was coming. Thank You Again!!!
Very nicely done, Wish they could have made a TV Movie that covered the gap between saving the world from the big bad in the final episode to the 6 years later that finished the series. The story of how he made the move from "The Blur" to "Superman" in the eyes of the public. But this is a great job of using clips from the series and a few from the movies, to make a more encompassing ending, thanks :-)
Very nice.. It would be nice to see tom welling appear in legends of tomorrow in the superman returns suit from another earth with his cousin kara from his universe. Helping the tan out
I really LOVE this series like i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it so much like...........hahaha i can't stop watching every little clip i see anywhere it's posted
WidgetArtificialArt you are awesome? I always hated the finale not doing this? When I saw this link I thought it was an actual deleted scene that the producers edited out but this is great too. It does some justice to the fact that they never did it.
Such a good show. After about the 5th season, I decided he wasn't going to fly until the final episode and he would not become Superman until the final episode. With this being said, I also was able to predict the ending. I told my wife it would probably end on the roof of the Daily Planet, he will walk toward the screen with the traditional Superman theme playing and open his shirt to show the "S" and it would zoom in and fade to black. And it would not surprise me if we got to see the end credits in the style of the Chris Reeve movies. I could predict that show with 98% accuracy. Though I did not see the Lana/Lex wedding coming, or the Chloe death coming. To this day, I am convinced that they intended to kill her off. That house exploded the moment they shut the door. There was no time to get to safety. I think they got bad press and changed it. Anyone remember the episode with Tom Wopat, where the paid homage to the Dukes of Hazzard?
Chloe didn't die. She got down to the safe house underground right before the bomb exploded. She then kidnapped by a meteor freak and then rescued by clark.
P.M. Hotard That's what I'm saying. at the end of the season finale, she and her dad entered the house and shut the door, then the house exploded. There was originally no time to get to safety. I think she was originally meant to die.
I love how people come to these things and crow on about how they knew what was going to happen in a show that's been off the air for years. Predicted the show with 98% accuracy my ass. So from day one you knew that it would be Kryptonite that would power most of the big bads? That Lexs dad and sister would be Allie to Clark? That they'd introduce doomsday and Lois into an origin story? Please.
Batman Laughed Don't like it? Go back to your batman videos. Notice I didn't capitalize it? I made my predictions over time, moron. Elements were introduced and was able to deduce where they were headed. I did know Doomsday was coming. I also knew about Zod and the fact that he would be back. I knew how they were going to bring in the Fortress of Solitude. I knew after about the 3rd episode that most of the villains would be meteor freaks. So yes, I saw most of it coming. I saw a trailer with Clark acting like an ass and knew the episode would feature red kryptonite. You can doubt all you like. I have been die-hard superman fanatic probably longer than you've been alive, junior. I never missed an episode of Smallville. Believe it. I knew that most of it was coming. And by the way, I also knew from the beginning of your rant that it would likely be a grammatical abomination with misspelled words like, "ally" and bad punctuation, if you bothered to use it at all. You were probably wrong a lot too, when you tried to deduce what was coming in the show. Go back to Batman. He seems more your speed.
+Se7ven Stones Yeah I get you. I had the chance to watch Smallville as a kid. With my lack of knowledge on superhero I had no idea what was going to happen next. I miss those day...
+Phil V I'm a SV fan myself, but I'm sorry to say it's NOT the longest running Sci-Fi show (with #216 episodes)... It's Supernatural (also on the CW), which is in it's 11th season right now! Currently at #227 aired episodes, and returning from holiday-hiatus on Jan. 20th with #228! It did beat out the original Stargate though, which had held the title with #213 episodes (over 9 seasons). Btw, not trying to stir stuff up, just a HUGE fan of BOTH shows (and the CW, too! ;D), and would like the facts to speak for themselves... :) Live long Sci-Fi TV, and prosper!!! *geeks out*
+Angelique Cleveland Is there a official ruling on that? Everything I can find lists Supernatural in the Fantasy, Drama, and/or Horror genre nothing has them listed as Sci-Fi. Which makes sense, since by definition supernatural means something that is beyond science or the laws of nature.
Matthew Cooper As far as "official rulings" go, I'll be honest and say I have no idea. I remembered seeing this article: www.discoversd.com/news/2015/jul/12/comic-con-2015-supernatural-panel/#&panel1-1, and then I checked IMDb to make sure the stats added up. Plus - something fresh on the brain - Supernatural is listed under Sci-Fi in all the People's Choice categories for awards. I know most articles/enthusiasts/etc count ALL the separate Stargate series, and ALL the different Dr's (seasons?) as still 1 SHOW, and to me, that's not true. I don't think you should be able to count "spin-offs", or if the show changes lead actors or countries. But, no matter how you look at it, there's a lot of great years from a ton of great shows for Sci-Fi, Horror and/or Fantasy geek alike.
i liked smallville for its time but its funny it took 10 season for him to have a cgi suit on or just wear a shirt vs the supergirl show she wears it in the pilot. man we have gone a long way of super hero tv shows. i do thank smallville started it all without we wouldnt have supergirl, arrow, the flash etc ( btw flash is my fav show out of all the superhero shows)
This video was great. I really wish that they would bring Tom back as Superman to be featured as a guest star on the Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. Of course, that's probably too much to hope for, given the upcoming movies featuring Superman.
Two the things the creators of the show said: 1) Clark would not wear the suit and 2) Clark would never fly. That's because Smallville was an origin story. Well they reneged on the second one in the series finale. I would have preferred not to have Lex be president. We got what we got and I was satisfied with it.
The creators said that they would never show Tom Welling in the suit. They said that not too long after the show started airing. The show was not about Superman. It was about Clark's journey to become Superman.
Yeah, but later the creative team changed, that's why appeared other dc heroes, and the whole point of the series is Clark Kent becoming Superman, so it's kind of weird don't seing him in the suit embracing his destiny
The sad part is in season 11 ( the comic cannon to smallville ) he change the suit couple month later. The suit looked more like the New 52 with no underwear, a black crest on the cape instead of a yellow one and a red belt instead of the iconic yellow belt. If they were gonna update the suit they could have done it in the show instead of updating it in a comic not everyone was gonna read.
If you look closely it looks like the one out of the Dean Cain series. The reason they couldn't show more, was they couldn't. Warner Brothers only owns 50% of CW. Warner to keep their rights on their DC products said CW could use some of the characters, but they could only do so much. Like with certain characters they couldn't show them in full shots in their costume. Some they have no problem with. but with the main ones like Batman and Superman you will never see a full shot of them in costume in a TV series. It is the reason you don't get a clear shot of Superman in costume in Supergirl. It is also the reason you will not see Bruce Wayne at the end of Gotham put on the Bat suit.
+Gordon Hotchkiss I heard this, too, throughout SV's entire 10 seasons. They were (supposedly) constantly fighting over character rights, and what they could and could not show, like how closely the costumes could match, and on, and on, and on... I know at one point in Smallville's run - when they talked about Lex in boarding school (with Bruce) - I read that they couldn't use BW/Batman because they wanted to save him for the movies that were already in the making, but I just never really got it, you know?!? Clearly we're intelligent enough to realize that one is a TV show, and the other a major motion picture, so why not make the fans (that are lining all TPTB's pockets with $$$) happy... :) P.S. Love Gotham, and the actor that plays Bruce Wayne - I actually think he'd grow into a GREAT Batman - but Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Riddler (Cory Micheal Smith) Own. My. Soul!!! :D
wow nice, i loved the new shots but I get why they didn't show it. Tom brilliant actor in smallville just didn't suit the superman look in the superman suit, that was why we didn't get it but great scene must have been agonising to leave it out for the creators. Also just read itas fan made. Great job .
+My Stupid Reviews - Actually I think it might've been a budgeting issue. When Johnathan Kent hands Clark the suit, that's actually the suit from Superman Returns, which wasn't fitted for Tom Welling. So they had to kind of improvise to make it look like he's wearing it.
+My Stupid Reviews The producers have said in multiple interviews it was their decision all along not to show Welling in the suit as that was not the purpose of the series. I smell a bit of B.S., maybe they were too cheap to re-tailor it to fit Welling, or several other reasons, but alas, the producers made a choice... one I disagree with (I see their point, if that's true, but I still disagree with their stupid decision wholly)
My Stupid Reviews Well, I don't think that rule of not showing Tom in the suit applied to the final episode, because they tried to show him in the suit, but didn't have the budget to physically make him one, so they did it by CG. I think it was just a money thing.
Sigh 😔 watching I feel like the ending was a missed opportunity (mostly due to Tom Welling) not wanting to be in the suit because he said he’d feel like they’d be cheating if they did
the least they could've done was make it not look so obvious they were hiding the suit. They should've had a legit upper half (like the undershirt he wore in the final scene on the roof) and just show that and CGI the cape with better quality. Even Booster Gold got more justice than Superman. The poor quality is what was so underwhelming about it. They could've made an original suit and an all-new modern take on it instead of the usual tights. Something like a step up from the red leather jacket and jeans that fit more naturally instead of form fitting. Even that would've been better than what we got. If this was the best they could do, the last scene should've been him flying out of the fortress and a cliffhanger ending of him going on to fight Darkseid/Apokolips.
the whole reason for tom not being in the suit is because of the "superman curse" but now is wishing he was in the suit but maybe there's a chance to see him come back to the cwverse
I liked this because it's Superman, but I feel jipt that they didn't show him in contact with the "object"?- and shoving it out to space, that would have made it totally awesome for me,but like I said before,Tom Welling makes the perfect image of the Man of Steel.😊😒😏⚫🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎
I would have asked them over and over when do I get to put the costume on if I were in Tom Welling's place because superman isn't my 1st or 2nd favorite superhero but he is my third and I do like very much obviously Clark is in my top 20 favorite superheroes and even he's number three he's still up there at the top somewhere and I would've bugged to no end until they would've let me wear the costume
me gusta cuando tom welling se pone el traje de Superman hoja la hubiera salido en la película Superman regresa hoja la hubiera salido con el traje de Superman en la serie de smallville me hubiera gustado verlo hubiera sido divertido
Too bad much of that is photo shopping Brandon Rouths flying scenes into Smallville backgrounds. Or did you think people wouldn't notice that the cape is too dark and missing the yellow S symbol in those extra scenes? Nice try.
This video was ok. What pissess me off , And the rest of the world, was fact that the producers "KNEW" this was coming ! 10 years and we get..THIS??! They had the money to make a suit fit for this universe! That ending was alright, But was both a rip off and heart breaking at the same time. Because it just reminds us that it was just set in another part of the DC universe and not our own in any way shape or form. Perhaps some fan were right, Smallville should have been canceled after five years with a major cliffhanger that may or may not be resolved in a future comic book, movie, TV movie or novel.
From what I understand, it was just Tom, out of respect for Christopher Reeve, he didn't want' to wear the suit... Tho he actually got to meet him and Christopher Reeve approved so I don't see why he wouldn't... but oh well... great to see what could have been
Tbh, compared to all other DCTV series I’ve watched, Smallville was the best out of all. Honestly, I’ve watched all of Smallville last month consistently, and I always got super excited every season, waiting for Tom to bc Superman despite his suit being CGI. Now, knowing that Tom is returning in Crisis, I just can’t wait to see him in a full suit.
