@Brandan1987 I thought the season was great because Lois was more involved. It was about damn time Lois took the spot light and gained the attention of Clark. The whole Lana thing was absolute shit. When ever Lana appeared on screen, I wanted to punch my self. That is how much I hated the character. People thought smallville went crap because the lana and clark thing lasted for too long. All they wanted was lois and clark, not shitty lana.
This was so satisfying to see the a glimpse of what the best adaptation of the Superman mythos will eventually become. I consider Smallville a prequel to comic book Superman and this scene shows that’s exactly what it is. Despite some of the changes to the mythology, the heart of the characters is the most accurate of any depiction. Of course it would have been incredible to see these versions of the characters in the classic Superman setting, but I don’t think it was necessary because we know what happens. You just need to pick up a Superman comic
In this episode Clark has so many pure Superman moments with his strong leadership and willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He even accepts his destiny as Superman and gets the suit in this scene. They really shouldn’t have dragged out Clark becoming Superman a whole other season. Clark was ready at this point and should have become Superman after a couple episodes in season 10
Seeing the red & yellow S through Clark eyes was awesome then the heroic Smallville Superman theme was great. He got his outfit now he needs his glasses & act like the clumsy Clark Kent that we know & love & needs to fly. I want him to see do some flying action not just in the end of show.
@balok1138 It's dramatic license. They were creating an iconic moment. Therefore (while it may have been reversed in real life) for the benefit of the audience it was shown the correct way round. Kind of like how most movies set in space will have sound effects for explosions and wepons fire when in reality there is no sound. It just enhances the moment.
This does make sense. Just like the comic books. His earth mom sewed him a costume and he used it as a suit :D Just perfect! Thank god this isn't Lois and Clark cuz it's totally different. This one is WAY better. WAYYY better. I am looking forward to Season 10 bigtime! Once done i intend to collect the WHOLE season box.
I like Erica Durance as Lois Lane with glasses saw newpaper of Lex Luther in it. Lois look at Clark Kent desk with chair spinning. The man yell something in sky happening and Lois Lane run up the stair say "Olsen" and Lois Lane saw Superman in year 2013.
@mayhem9024 Actually, Cassidy Freeman is signed on for 3 seasons, including season 10. Erica Durance is signed on for season 10. Allison Mack is working on a contract for next season. Not sure about Justin Hartley, but he said he would come back. Source: TVGuide
What I think would be a good intro to season 10 (now this is just my opinion) would be that Clark survies his fall and then he realizes that he really does need Lois and he proposes when he gets back to her
I just wish they stayed consistent with his family crest. You could clearly see Christopher Reeve’s Silver Age crest reflecting in his eyes. Then the final season they go with the crest Routh used in his movie
Well the crest on his black shirt as the blur was more similar to the Routh one than Reeve. So they actually were consistent between his Blur and Superman suits
Smallville animated series next soon. Smallville Season episode 21 salvation Clark Kent was dreaming about the future Lois Lane in the Daily Planet in metropolis world 2013. When the Clark Kent woke up saw box of presents from Clark Kent mom of the superman outfit gift 🎁.
best finale of smallville i so agree, the opening act of this episode had superman/movie theme it gave me the chills in a good way as i said earlier the should make a superman movie with this cast, same lex, clark, lois and even perry following the show, or make it a semi-sequal( like superman returns did to the original first two movies of superman)
@damastermind26 I think it's Clark she's married to, since her assistant tells her something about a dinner with Clark or something like that. That had a 'married' vibe written all over.
@Arnabas315 Keep in mind that he's kryptonian. So what's happening is his "reverse" vision is bending the reflection back to it's original state. This is how his x-ray vision works. The reflective kryptonian mirrors behind his pupil also helps to give a clear reflection that wouldn't normally happen in human eyes. Everybody knows that.
is there a specific name for the song/melody that place onces Clark opens the box..it sounds like it could be a 'intro' to the Superman theme (but they dont play the williams theme it sounds like a different interpolation of it..anyone know the name
@starrynights1011 yea I know, but then I mean Louis was basically in love with 2 ppl, the blur, and clark. She loved the blur more, it was obvious. Plus, she even allowed him to KISS HER(in this episode), luckily that was clark all the way through. I mean, I would question her commitment....but w/e, I hate how he takes forever to reveal himself because I just want to see Lois finddd outt and react :D
@starrynights1011 that's true but what I meant was that with these writers you never know what is going to happen. She probably is married to Clark or (like in the latest Superman movie) she could be married to someone else and still be in-live with Clark.
So... the image of the S in his eye should be a reflection, which would mean it's backwards on the costume... What does it mean "If you choose to stay"? Stay where? Smallville? Earth? I gave up on this show years ago, but if they start to show Superman, I might come back.
What's all this crap about Lana? Lois Lane always has been and always will be the main love of Clark Kent's life. They never should have dragged clana on so long.
@BEEEUTIFUL152 It did seem a bit goofy, but that's expected since the vision is supposed to be in the Silver Age that Fate talked about. There has to be a little cheesiness.
@tiramarin It could be the truth but the 10th season is unfortunately the last season of Smallville ever...I am going to cry after end of this perfect serail :/
@buzzy0016 If Superman was evil then I'd say your right but the reason Batman always beats Superman is because Superman has to play by a bunch of rules while Batman doesn't.
@TheSuperbunny09 No. Unlike Bryan Singers "Superman Returns" these writers understand that Lois wouldn't marry anyone else BUT Clark. That's how its always been in the comics. SInger was trying to be 'original' by giving her a finacee and kid and it backfired as everyone thought it was stupid.
I wonder if this future/dream Lois knows Clark's secret? I can't really tell by her face when she see's his glasses on the table and the chair spinning. But then she smiles seeing Superman saving them soo....idk
Lex Luthor should be final villain of the story, not Darkseid, not Zod or others. This season Darkseid will be final antagonist, but not Darkseid leads him to become Superman, Lex Luthor does. So, this series must end after Clark become Superman (Salvation) and Lex become president of the USA, triggering last Smallville apocalypse (Hourglass-vision, Scare-dream, Apocalypse-alternate reality). 11th season must bring another supervillain and Lex could be finale.
If Season 10 is not finale, but they announce that it is they should bring back Lex in seasons 11 and 12 to run for presidency and Clark to fullfill his destiny. Menwhile in this season they should bring Darkseid as a possible villain, again if they don't end this series. And in season 11 a new villain.
@wizardrac He is Not Jimmy Olsen dude. In the Season 8 Finale The REAL Jimmy is prolly 11 years old. This Jimmy would be like 16, not 20. This is an argument you are going to have to back down on, my friend.
@tayjon34 Checking it out because I followed a link from the CoH forums... And I am hoping the show might have a good moment or two before it ends. I *did* watch the Hawkman episode, which was pretty good.
@princesskagome100 they gotta bring Jimmy though, it would have been better. So wen Clark would be moonlighting, Lois wud have made Jimmy as her backup for trying to get her stories at the Daily Planet Tht wud have been awesome. I prefer they bring Jimmy than Lex back in the finaally. As much as Im Clois fan, I hope they bring Lana for an episode so Clark can FINALLY chose lois over lana. Lois deserves tht after tht horrible scene at Bride
this just came to me, i think they had him wear the suit just for a quick glimpse & covered it up, i think the producers told him to say those sayings that he didn't wear the suit to keep it protected from causing mass hysteria. just a theory.
He said the suit belonged to Christopher Reeves. I think he didn't want to wear it because he felt that Christopher should be the only one to do so..Christopher was his favorite Superman
Clark becomes Superman exactly after 12 years and not after 10, see Superman The Movie and you'll know what I'm talking about. Kal-El travels in all 12 known galaxies, this is a sign also that his journey must be done in 12 years, not 10. In my opinion, Clark could not become Superman because of Darkseid or any other supervillain like Zod or others, but only Lex Luthor who is his archenemy will have to made him become our superhero, just like he deed with Lex in Arctic scene.
@meeboot in reeboot superman comics when martha makes the suit it is still indestructable but it is mention that he has some kind of force field that protects it exept the cape like an aura!
Darkseid is the final villain in Superman TAS and JL/ JLU, so they could do something to bring him in a few scenes like Doomsday in season 8. The season 10 finale should bring Darkseid's Elite.
@canadianguy0987 yes! IS A WEDDING RING! ok cw could make the ofert about season 11 IF the raitings go well (more than well) in season 10, BUT it would all depend on Tom Welling.
@buzzy0016 What didn't make sense? Superman plays by a lot of rules which gives Batman the upper hand if Supes didn't play by the Governments rules then he'd be able to beat Batman. If Supes played by Batmans rules then the world would turn on him, he has to show that he works for the people even more so then any Fire Fighter or cop.
I reckon that since smallville is coming to an end after season ten that this scene here will be given answers throughout season 10. such as Homecoming where Brainiac takes Clark to the future and Tess looking after Alexander, he will become Lex Luthor.
