Hellcats is an upcoming American television cheerleading comedy-drama series[3] for The CW starring Alyson Michalka and Ashley Tisdale. The show is based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders by journalist Kate Torgovnick.[4] The series is described as "Election meets Bring It On".[5][6]
On May 18, 2010, it was announced that Hellcats has been picked by The CW for the fall 2010-11 season.[7][8] On May 20, 2010, during its 20092010 season schedule presentation, The CW announced their intention to air Hellcats after America's Next Top Model on Wednesday nights
The ninth season of Smallville is set to premiere on September 25, 2009.[3] Brian Austin Green has been confirmed to portray Metallo for at least two episodes this season,[5] but executive producer Brian Peterson hopes that he will stay on board for more episodes.[6] Callum Blue has also been confirmed to portray Zod as a series regular. His character was first mentioned in season five, when Brainiac used Lex Luthor's body as a physical vessel for Zod's spirit to inhabit.[7] In an interview, executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders explained that this version of Zod will be different from the one who appeared in prior seasons. The execs classify this incarnation as "Major Zod", as opposed to his typical "General Zod" identifier, and reveal that throughout season nine "the venomous side of Zod rises because he experiences a few key betrayals with our beloved characters".[8] In an interview, Justin Hartley revealed that season nine will partially deal with Oliver having to battle his personal demons: "I think he is going to struggle with the things he has been afforded (as a result of) his powers. He has sacrificed things and done things that haunt him Its bad stuff. We need to get to the bottom of it."[9] Peterson states that season nine will see Clark taking his "Red-Blue Blur" persona into obsessive territory: "He is trying a little too hard to be a hero, and is leaving the rest of his life behind."[8]
