Smokey is an African Grey who doesn't just mimic, but can speak in context and respond to a number of questions. The intelligence these birds possess is truly remarkable.
Smokey is such a lovable bird. So amazingly brilliant and always a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing his incredible talent. And you did a real great job training him.
Aw, she's gorgeous. I saw your other video where she was getting cuddles - you've got an amazing relationship with her and it was a good call out as people don't realise how much attention parrots need. I worked with rescue parrots in Bolivia and it's heartbreaking to see the trauma these birds still have from being mistreated.
Nice mine is a male I hand reared him from 6 weeks old he's now about 15 months. Loves me - hates my hubby , hubby said it's him or the bird - gee I'm going to miss hubby LOL . Your videos are very good .
LOL! Thanks! Mine also didn't like to be handled by other people so I trained her to fetch a ball from their hands. Now she's a lot better with people knowing that it's a normal part of the day.
Tilikum , ( his name ) will go and land on the arm of hubby's chair if he's eating peanuts or whatever , put on a threatening pose until he gives him one then he flies to his stand and eats it , then comes back for another , the bird knows hubby is scared of him and uses it to his advantage.I keep trying to talk hubby into getting him to step up on a closed fist , for the treat ( so he hasn't got much to get hold of ) but hubbys not a bird person and is totally at the birds mercy , it would be sad if it wasn't so damn funny.
Wow! I wish I could do the same with my African Grey XD But it seems that you need to spend a lot of time to do this. My parrot doesn't have all that patience! I have a question, how do you do to give these seeds as a "reward"? My parrot has these in his food, so he doesn't care if I decide to give him these. Can you parrot always eat whenever he wants? Mine can, maybe that's the problem..
Hi! She's fed primarily pellets and fruits and veggies. Since seeds are high in fat, I use them only as training treats. This is a healthier alternative plus it increases the value of the reward. :)
sakanade12 Find out what's your 🐦bird super favored food. Like some nuts or other. Only give this treat once a day or so. Your bird's ☝attention jumps. To get him / her to speak that special word. After word spoken, give 👍treat as a reward. Good luck & patient.
Hi Ed...I have a very sweet, loving, male, shorthaired Persian cat...After much...MUCH patience & training, he can now say, "fishstick" & "chaise lounge"... *: )*
@@poppykok5 haha, yeah mine has since enlarged his repertoire of words. He won't shut up now says all sorts of things 😎 and he knows what he is saying which I never thought could be the case. They are smart creatures. Especially when I leave the room he keeps talking until I come back. Ofcourse when we leave he says Bye, Bye hahaha.

+Wayne Lloyd Your bird is still very young. Just be patient. My CAG was much more quiet at that age and now at about 8 months is constantly talking and mimicking sounds.
i has a amazon parrot I wish could act like dis but idk how to train it or how to reach it how to talk when evr I put my finger near it he always bites nd steps on once in a while it's also been in a abusive home b4 we got it ik dis is so much but if u see dis comment can u please giv some advice that can help nd with all of the commotion and drama tht use to go on in house caused to parrot the only kn how to scream and make noises besides that the only word it can say is hello please help I want to build more trust between me and my parrot
amazon parrots don't talk as well as African grey parrots Terrance, but your best bet is to keep repeating the word and maybe use an audio tape to play at night when your parrots is going to sleep (parrots learn very good at this time) and if you hear your parrot saying it. Make sure you give it a reward like something she likes to eat as soon as she says the word your looking for and the parrot automatically starts associating the word with a treat and will naturally say it more often.
