Sadly I’ve tried searching e-Bay and no luck finding any type of product for a cruise control kit for a Smart Car. It would really help if you could post the brand name of the product and any contact information, thanks.👍
Cruise control is worth the work. Pedal wiring surprised me, figured it was all in the column and speedo. Weird how this is not a standard item in this era
This looks identical to the kit I’m about to install in my 2008 cabrio. But mine has an led indicator i need to install in the dash by drilling a hole. That’s the part that I’m worried about going wrong.
I just bought this to install on my 2012. Have you had any issues with it? How do you like it overall? Hoping I made a good choice to get Cruise on mine.
She takes a little getting used to it but it works just fine. Sure $500 is a bit of money but if you’re going to keep the car for a long time and it’s totally worth it.
Thank you very much for your videos! I learned a lot and I'd like to install cruise control with the help of your video. Is it really plug and play? Or does it have to be activated by a software update or something similar. A friend of mine did this with his Smart 450 and had to get it activated by Mercedes. Just trying to plan the things ahead. Also you wanted to give an update on how it works while driving. I'm very curious about it and would love to see a video about that!
It works fine, but there is no indication of whether or not you are currently in cruise on the dash cluster. There is an optional little light that you can install by drilling through your dash and it will light up letting you know when cruise has been activated. It works just like any other cruise control. It’ll speed you up to get you to speed, and it will stop accelerating when you reach speed. It’s nothing fancy. Yes, it is simply plug and play. All it does is give a signal to your accelerator pedal and tell it where to stop. Very simple system no software programming needed at all at the dealership.
@@ToyotaGR86Performance There are so many things that I want to do and things that need to get done with my two cars and my mom’s two cars and with my stand up scooters but it seems nowadays I almost never get to work on my own shit at work and it has very hostile there too in recent months.
@@ToyotaGR86Performance I almost got shoved off of the road yesterday and I want to install one of the highest quality and loudest air horns I can get without an air compressor tank.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 electric train horns do exist, but their current (AMPS) draw on the electrical system is immense so maybe installing one with a capacitor inline might be an option for you.
Are you referring to the tweeters on the doors near the dash? Those were custom installed by me and you have to takeoff the interior door panel to put those in. I am not aware of any tweeters that are on the dash itself. If your vehicle has them, that is news to me. I would assume you would have to pull the dash out in order to replace them, unless they have a plastic cover on top that you would unclip.

Soon as i installed this on my 2008 ForTwo, i got an engine light with the codes P0204 C0400 and C3200 Oddly, the first is a cylinder 4 injector... on a 3 cylinder car?
When I did my 450 some years ago I got the control stalk, I then had to take car to garage with merecedes software to activate the function. I now have 451 but no cruise.
